Lead Inspection Engineer (New Zealand)

Experience: 10 to 20 yrs.  | Salary: INR 5,00,000 - 15,00,000 P.A


Position Summary

This key role is an outstanding engineering leadership opportunity in a well-performing operating plant environment, with an interesting combination of responsibilities. Reporting to the Principal Inspection Engineer within the Technical department the job holder plays a pivotal role in managing the sites Inspection Management System for pressure equipment asset management in support of the Ammonia Urea plant operations. The role includes plant inspection, risk- based assessments and condition assessments of in-service pressurized equipment; providing an inspection-related service to all engineering disciplines; developing and maintaining the mechanical fabrication/repair quality system; providing pro-active support to mechanical engineers, other engineering disciplines, maintenance, operations and site management. You will also manage key relationships with external legal authorities and agencies.

Desired Candidate Profile

o BE(Mech), BSc(Mech) degree or similar. Chartered engineer status or committed to obtaining this status would be beneficial.
o A minimum of 10 years experience as a well-rounded Mechanical Engineer, including essential technical engineering experience in oil and gas/petrochemical process plants in areas of design (pressure equipment and piping), project management, at senior or lead level. 
o Demonstrated technical competence in general engineering and petrochemical process plant related work in areas of design and projects. Familiarity with codes and standards used in oil and gas/petrochemical industry and local statutory requirements.
o Youll need to be a mechanical engineer with a well-rounded technical background, plus experience in Inspection/Asset integrity management and the real desire to progress this type of work as a career direction, to Principal Inspection Engineer level in the near term. 
o Understanding of quality management systems related to petrochemical plant equipment manufacture, inspection and repairs.
o Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making ability, together with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
o High internal discipline to work in a systematic and structured way, with strong customer service ethic.
o A dynamic self-starter with a positive attitude and communication skills to apply good leadership skills across the company, and with statutory authorities.
o Career commitment to progress and be an acknowledged senior leader in the Inspection/Asset integrity field.
