Biology Teacher for Durban (South Africa)

1. To take on a leadership role in respect of the subject, learning area or phase if required.
2. To plan, coordinate, control, administer, evaluate and report on learners academic progress.
3. To establish a class room environment which stimulated positive learning and actively engages learners in the learning process.
4. To recognize that learning is an active process and be prepared to use a variety of strategies to meet the outcomes of the process.
5. To cater for the educational and general welfare of all learners in his/her case.
6. To assist the principal in overseeing learner counseling and guidance, careers, discipline and the general welfare of all learners.
7. To control and co-ordinate stock and equipment which is used and required.
8. To perform or assist with one or more of other non-teaching administrative duties such as :Fire drill and first aid, secretary to general staff meeting and/or others, timetabling, collection of fees and other monies, staff welfare and accidents etc.
9. To contribute to the professional development of colleagues by sharing knowledge, ideas and resources.
10. To participate in the school governing body if elected to do so.
11. To collaborate with educators of other schools in organizing and conducting extra and co-curricular activities.
12. To meet parents and discuss with them the conduct and progress of their children.
13. To participate in departmental committees, seminars and courses.
14. To maintain contact with Sporting, social, cultural and community organizations.
15. To have contacts with the public on behalf of the principal

Experience : 2-10 Yrs.

Qualification : B.ed
