Quantity Surveyor

Duties Include:

To assist in all aspects of quantity surveying from inception of a project through to completion or in some instances be the project leader on smaller projects.
Assist in the measurement and preparation of cost models, cost estimates, cost plans, cost analysis, benchmarking, cash flows, and bills of quantities, tender analysis, tender recommendation, valuations, monthly cost reports and final accounts
Attend all necessary meetings when required

Material Engineer

The main responsibility of the Materials Engineer is to report to the Senior Materials Engineer on all matters concerning Site materials and the management of the Site laboratories.

Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Quality Control of the works with respect to materials
2. Managing the Materials Inspectors work
3. Liaise with the Contractors Materials Engineer
4. Review and approve design mix formulae for concrete
5. Ensure calibration of the laboratory equipment and plants
6. Give approval for borrow pits (Location and classification)
7. Preparation of the materials section of the final report

Planning Engineer

AECOM is seeking a Planning Engineer who will be responsible for scheduling activities of the project. The successful candidate will have extensive knowledge and experience in project planning, budgeting, cost phasing and control from the project initiation to close out phases, utilizing computer based systems (Primavera Project Management P6 & Primavera Contract Management Expedition), within the framework of an integrated project services function for the effective management of a wide range of concurrent projects, to meet the business plan objectives and have a minimum of 10 yrs relevant experience, 3 of which should be in a similar role with engineering consultancy or project management consultancy in the GCC region . He/ she must hold a Bachelor of Science degree in a relevant engineering discipline with certification in planning and scheduling of projects.

Key Duties Include:

Using latest version of Primavera Project Management (P6) and Primavera Web Software for monitoring and reviewing: baselines - updated project schedules cost
Create Dashboards and Project Workspace.
Using latest version of Primavera Contract Management (Expedition) as Contract Document Management software to track correspondences, drawings, submittals, materials & equipment procurement, daily reports, transmittals, minutes of meetings, bill of quantities, proposals, requests for inspection, requests for clarification, change orders, invoices, payment requisitions and snag lists and linking the Project information in Primavera Contract Management to the Primavera Enterprise Schedule.
Coordinating with the Engineer in the review and integration of the schedule in to the clients database and will guide the Contractor in preparation of the schedule to be compatible with the integration requirements.
Coordinate the schedule update through the Primavera Web Interface
Reviewing Contractors work program submissions including all narratives and supporting information, and provides analysis and findings.
Maintain integration with OP&M system
Verifying actual progress and comparing actual performances to original plans.
Monitoring, adjusting and updating the cost plan and cash flows accordingly and the consolidating of these results in Consultant monthly reports
Estimating time element of change orders and submits his analysis to the Engineer and incorporating within the master schedule after authorization.
Evaluating Contractors Extension of Time requests and preparing recommendations to the Engineer
Follow up OP&M system implementation requirements.

Electrical Inspector

AECOM seek a highly experienced Electrical Inspector for a Major Highway Project, this role will report into the Resident Engineer Utilities. This position is located in Doha, Qatar. A minimum of 7 years relevant experience in comparable highway and infrastructure projects with a familiarity with utilities and related works is required . A relevant technical degree is required.
Duties & Responsibilities

Monitor contractor QA/QC activities and maintain records
Ensuring that responses are complete and in compliance with the contract documents. Where problems are found, work with Project Engineer to resolve.
Audit inspections for conformity to contract documents and contractor submitted plans
Assist to identify, respond to or evaluate technical issues to maintain the schedule
Carry out inspection for installations of Contractor as per approved Documents
Ask for clarifications, as and when required, from the Supervisor
Create non conformity reports for Contractors non compliances
Report progress
Not allow for any changes during Construction without Engineers site instructions or Supervisors written instruction
Follow SH&E policies , strictly.

Electrical Engineer

AECOM is seeking an Electrical Engineer who is responsible for the electrical design contents as assigned together with its follow-up for Authority and Clients approval with 10+ years post graduate experience in the design and construction supervision of electrical networks and a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited University.

Duties Include:
Preparing of electrical design calculations, drawings, specifications, and tender documents for the design projects.
Participating in design progress and design coordination meetings.
Liaising and coordination with all applicable Local Authority Departments to obtain approval on projects.
Coordinating with other AECOMs Discipline Engineers as applicable for the continuity of the design projects.
Responsible for the design review of the electrical services.
Participating in design review meetings and workshops.
Preparing of meeting records, design review and design progress reports.
Designing Lighting solutions using AGI32 software, while meeting Local and international Standards.
Designing LV power systems, in order to power lighting systems and other systems connected all over the development, making sure voltage drop and power fluctuation are within tolerable limits
Designing MV power systems, in order to provide power for the LV systems, making sure power levels and fault currents are within tolerable limits.
Designing specific architectural lighting solution for a specific installation, i.e.: Bridge lighting or Faade lighting.
Solving RFIs on a daily basis, providing solutions for problems on site.
Squad checking other teams design packages in order to avoid clashes and insuring that all services and utilities form a cohesive system.
Site inspections to ensure that the work done by the Contractor is up to specified Standards and specifications.
Liaising with the Local Authorities to acquire Design NOCs (Non Objection Certificates) and Construction NOCs.

Specific Skills:

Assistant Resident Engineer

The Assistant Resident Engineer- Utilities is responsible for performing all the administrative and operational functions necessary for the day to day operation of the project. In the absence of the Resident Engineer, the Assistant will assume his duties. A minimum 10 yrs post graduate experience in design, site supervision and construction management of Utilities on major highway projects of complex nature and aBachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited University.

Duties Include:

Responsible for administration of construction contract works, and assist the RE with prompt exchange of correspondence, submittals, and RFIs to all contractors.
Orient, assign, and supervise the construction inspection staff on a daily basis so that all contractor activities are adequately covered.
Supervising and remain vigilant regarding all aspects of the construction activities. Respond with appropriate and necessary levels of construction supervision to provide quality assurance in accordance with contract documents.
Coordinating the interface of the construction work with other contractors on the site. Orient inspectors to verify that contractor is following his approved site Health & Safety plan.
Assisting the RE and QS team in negotiations with the contractor regarding the value of claims or changes in schedule.
Reviewing the contractors progress at all times. Monitor the material incorporated in the work, the materials stored at the site, and the contractors manpower and equipment.
Attending weekly, monthly, and other progress meetings held at the site as required by the SRE. Identify constraints and recommend corrective measures.
Reviewing inspectors daily reports and preparation of engineers daily diary, and general oversight of inspectors daily activities including works assignments, on-site performance, and guidance on the supervision of the contractors operations.
Coordinating with contractors supervisory personnel regarding schedule, sequence, and method of work.
Continuous inspections and consultation with the SRE including the preparation of written and oral reports to the RE on contractual and procedural matters.
