Purpose:
The purposed of this role is to plan, direct and co-ordinate HR activities of the relevant countries to optimise HR support and value add to the business. Create a customer centric HR operation in country/ies by setting up and managing an efficient HR service delivery and administration function. Engaging proactively with line managers to drive annual HR cycle activities. Impact employee engagement through in country employee engagement mechanisms and fair and consistent application of directives. This role will entail the management of various projects (but has no direct reports) and reports to the Head of HR Generalist Hub South, Central and Eastern Africa/
Responsibilities:
Alignment of the Regional HR strategy with the Country business strategy and operation
Collaborate closely with the SME, HR Service Delivery and HRBPS to facilitate transition of the HR service delivery model to a Shared Services approach.
Implementation of a comprehensive Talent Strategy for country, aligned with the business critical challenges
Development and Implementation of an industrial relations strategy for the country to ensure internal industrial harmony, business efficiency and customer satisfaction
Build a high performance culture in country to improve employee engagement and drive high performance.
Embed the HR delivery model to the business and ensure that globalised HR processes are known to country staff
Perform International mobility functions in line with Regional and country directives
Management of country HR stakeholders i.e. government agencies and service providers (EAP providers, payroll service providers, employee tax consultants)
Advice the business on basic payroll issues, employee tax and participate in the payroll management processes
Provide strategic country compensation and benefits support as required by the stakeholders
Develop and analyse country HR dynamics/trends and advise/align the business accordingly
Ensure compliancy against HR statutory and auditory requirements i.e. SOX/DNV etc.
Required Skills and Competence:
A Bachelor or Honours degree in Human Resources or related field is required.
10+ years experience in the HR functional area
at least 5 years working experience in a multinational company, preferably in the ICT industry
3+ years of experience managing people, including virtually and matrix in a multinational environment
Demonstrated HR knowledge and experience across all areas of the discipline (e.g. employee relations, recruitment, performance management, learning & development, talent management, change management, workforce planning, Compensation and benefits etc.), preferably in the ICT industry
Documented business understanding/acumen
Strong knowledge of labour relations management & labour legislation
Project Management Skills and attention to detail
Effective team player and an ability to build/maintain relationships with HR stakeholders
Strong interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically PowerPoint and Excel
Working knowledge of HRMS
