Accounts Officer for Nigeria

Experience: 5 to 10 yrs.

COMPANY DESCRIPTION

Our Client is part of a Group of companies with large business Interests in Africa spanning FMCG, Construction Materials, Agriculture, Oil & Gas and Shipping. The FMCG division of the Group is now poised for further expansion for its businesses across West Africa with Lagos, Nigeria serving as the divisional headquarters for the Group

The group structure revolves around superior customer services offerings that are built through continuous monitoring of processes and costs to achieve competitive advantage and delight for their customers. The group believes in maintaining focus on stakeholders interests at all times. 

They seek an Accounts Officer with experience in the manufacturing industry (preferably FMCG) for their Office located in Ota town, Ogun State, Nigeria.

Position Overview:

Accounts Officer 
Qualifications: M.Com 
Experience: 5 10 years in Accounts Department of Manufacturing Company preferably with some work experience in Nigeria
Computer savvy with knowledge of Tally Accounting System
Basic Costing knowledge 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Prepare profit and loss statements and monthly closing statements.
Ensure integrity of financial reports and monthly closure of books.
Ensure Compliance with SOPs.
Vendor/Customer code Creations, employee payment, Vendor Payments, Vendor Reconciliations, Bank Reconciliations / Reconciliation of account books / Up-to-date maintenance of Ledgers and other books of accounts, cash-flow management, etc.
Interaction with internal auditors & statutory auditors and ensure compliance to all regulatory requirements.
Compile and analyze financial information to prepare entries to accounts, such as general ledger accounts and document business transactions.
Prepare accounting and related system reports with accuracy and completeness.
Prepare budget, revenue, expense, payroll entries, invoices and other accounting documents.
Prepare revenue and expenditure trends and report to Financial Controller.
Explain billing invoices and accounting policies to staff, vendors and clients. Recommend, develop and maintain financial databases and manual filing systems.
Under the supervision of the Financial Controller, manage the production of annual and quarterly reports and Accounts and the associated supporting evidence and reconciliation.
Ensure that all transactions comply with appropriate tax laws and filing the tax returns with the various tax departments of the government on behalf of the company.
Good Communication Skills with proficiency in written and spoken English.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

Offshore Salary + Local salary + Annual Bonus Salary is not a constraint for the right candidate
Bachelor accommodation will be provided 
Annual bonus on offshore salary based on performance
30 days paid leave with airfare each year
Airfare and work permit costs borne by the organization

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

M.Com with around 5 to 10 years of work experience in the accounts department of a manufacturing industry organization 
Computer Savvy, Knowledge of Tally Accounting System, Basic Costing knowledge, preferably with some work experience in Nigeria. 
Systems and Process oriented. 
Ability to consolidate Branch accounts and Business Group accounts.

KEY SKILLS

The candidate should be confident, a self-starter, with the ability to operate in a dynamic environment
Computer literate with good ability to use Microsoft Excel 
Experience of having worked with ERP systems including Navision
Experience of Tally Accounting system
Good English speaking and writing skills
Good communication and presentation skills
