Purpose:

Purchasing and supply management is an important role for any business or organization. More than two thirds of revenue can be spent on buying the company's products or services, meaning the purchasing manager can make a real difference in cost saving and profit.

Overview of the position:

A Manager with lead role in strategic planning & project implementation. Oversee annual procurement budget of USD 60M of commoditiesincluding raw materials ( polyethylene, masterbatch, ink, solvent, packing materials), subcontracts, capital machineries & spare parts . Negotiate contracts with outsourcing supplier & vendors. Assign buyer to commodities based on skill & knowledge.

Tasks involved:

Managing and controlling all the companys suppliers with particular emphasis on the purchase of Raw Materials for production and spare parts for machinery.

Ensure parts and materials are bought at the most competitive price and delivered on time for production.

Forecasting consumption for major raw materials and keeping a constant check on stock levels.

Establish strategic relationships with key suppliers who are aligned to the company's needs and ensuring suppliers are aware of business objectives, compliance with quality requirements, visit and audit supplier to validate their competency.

Identify new potential suppliers, interview them, agree terms and negotiate supply agreements where appropriate, including discount structures and volume rebates.

Conduct research to ascertain the best products and suppliers in terms of best value, delivery schedules and quality; negotiating and agreeing contracts and monitoring their progress, checking the quality of service provided;

Liaising between suppliers and relevant internal departments.

Forecasting price trends and their impact on future activities, producing reports, presentation, statistics as per management requirement about market analysis and possible business growth.

Training and supervising the work of other members of purchasing team.

Foster close working relationships with associated departments eg. Sales, Warehouse and Production,

Continually improve purchasing methods and drive down external spend and meet saving target assign by management.
