Head Pastry Chef for 6 Star Resort in Oman


    Our High End International client is seeking a committed, creative & energetic Head Pastry Chef to join a brigade at a very high profile site. The Head Pastry Chef will be working for 45 hours a week including 30 minutes break in a day, with 2 days off per week.

    Highlights of the Role & Entitlements:-
    • Competitive & negotiable salary, free of tax.
    • Minimum guaranteed monthly Service Charge of USD$200.00.
    • 45 hours per week, including 30 minutes break in a day, with 2 days off per week.
    • 30 days paid annual leave (including off days).
      Public Holidays as per the published list (Normally 13 days per year).
    • Joining and end of contract economy air ticket. Relocation allowance of USD 1,000.00.
    • Vacation economy return air ticket to home country every after 12 months of service.
    • A group medical insurance scheme covering accidents and hospitalization benefits.
    • Semi furnished single accommodation at the resort.
    • All meals are provided complimentary in the Staff Restaurant.
    • Laundry for uniform and 4 pieces of personal clothes per day.
    • Entitled for end of service Gratuity of 15 days pay for each year of service for the first three years and one month for each of the following years in service. Shall not be payable if the duration of service is less than 1 year. (Applicable to expats only).

    As a Head Pastry Chef, you will offer the following experience, skills & qualifications:-
    • 3 or more years of progressive pastry managerial experience in a leading resort or hotel, and have experience in a luxury lifestyle brand with international exposure.
    • Prior experience as a Head Pastry Chef is preferred.
    • Experience in the luxury market is essential. Any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is acceptable.
    • Excellent command of English (oral & written), abilities in other languages would be beneficial.
    • Computer knowledge.

    • Outgoing, guest-oriented, service-minded, strong physical condition, flexible, and has a passion for self-improvement.
    • Maintain physical stamina and proper mental attitude to deal effectively with guests, management, and other employees with courtesy and tactfulness.

    The Head Pastry Chef role will be responsible for and involved the following:-

    • To create optimum customer satisfaction by providing the highest standard of pastry quality and presentation at the same time maximizing the profit margins through effective management of all pastry kitchen functions.
    • Plans production for pastry department, according to menu or special requirements. Supplies recipes for, and suggests methods and procedures to pastry staff. Fashions table and pastry decorations, such as statuaries and ornaments, from sugar paste and icings, using cream bag, spatula, and various decorating tools.
    • Participates in preparing desserts.
    • Requisitions supplies and equipment. Maintains production records.
    • Is committed and is always striving to achieve guest satisfaction.
    • Contributes to the morale and team spirit of the resort by maintaining effective relationships with colleagues.
    • Ensures that all activities are carried out honestly, ethically, and within the parameters of law.
