Resort Manager for Intercontinental Mauritius Resort, Mauritius

    JOB OVERVIEW:

    Assist in providing day-to-day leadership and direction by maximising financial returns, driving development of people, creating and maintaining a unique guest experience, executing on brand standards, and building awareness of hotel and brand in the local community. Act as the General Manager in his absence.
     
    • Responsible for the proper, efficient and profitable functioning of the Day to Day operations of the Resort.
    • Clarify duties and responsibilities of departments and ensure that work flows are in a logical and good order.
    • Ensure that the hotel is clean and well maintained throughout.
    • Ensure proper staffing levels.
    • Ensure that hotel standards, policies and procedures are understood and followed.
    • Assist in prepare annual departmental operating budgets as well as capital expenditure and manpower budgets.
    • Control and analyze departmental costs to ensure performance is within budget.
    • Oversees hiring, performance appraisals, counseling, coaching, training, disciplinary action, etc., for respective divisions. 
    • Attend/Lead daily morning briefings and any other meetings as scheduled
    • Analyze rate discrepancy reports to ensure room revenue control.
    • Develops annual priorities and operating plan and supports the hotel's long term strategy.
    • Lead, motivate and engage at all levels
    • Work on special projects as assigned by the General Manager.
    • Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned. The employee is expected to work in other areas of the hotel when needed to assist operations to perform job duties not necessarily contained in this job description.

      • The ability to deliver luxury service in both personalized and high volume service.
      • A confident personality that inspires the team with a people oriented approach. 
      • The ability to develop a culture of high standards, excellent quality and customer responsiveness.
      • Strong F&B (Service Background) and ideally you are currently serving as a No2 in a 5 Star hotel of a similar Operation.
      • IHG working background preferred but not essential. 
      • Problem solving, analytical, motivating and organizational abilities. 
      • Innovative aptitude, to develop new concepts and to deliver creative solutions in line with the hotel strategies.
      • A Bachelors degree or Diploma in Hotel Management. 
      • Financial acumen

      4+ years experience
