Core Network Engineer in Internet Options Botswana

Internet Options Botswana, an Interest Service Provider based in Botswana that provides networking and connectivity solutions, to a growing client base of varying sizes and requirements across Botswana.

• The appropriate candidate will ideally be responsible for designing, building, maintain and troubleshooting wired, wireless (licenses and otherwise) networks, by utilizing network devices and appliances across the network.
• Should have a proven experience in troubleshooting and performance management of data infrastructure networks. 
• Should be self-motivated, and have strong communication and interpersonal skills including an ability to convey technical information using non-technical language
• Should have hands on experience in setting up and troubleshooting Cisco routers & switches, network appliances, L2/L3 switches, Firewalls (Fortigate, Cisco, ..), Load Balancers and LAN switching technologies. Should be able to monitor, troubleshoot, and escalate hardware software issues on LAN/WAN, problems as per operations processes, affecting the network infrastructure that includes routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, network appliances, and any other network devices, without direct supervision
  
• Should be knowledgeable in data circuit technologies (MPLS, Ethernet, )
• Should have an expert knowledge in service provider level networking with knowledge in TCP/IP, Routing Protocols
• Experience working on QoS, and related quality of service parameters
• A good understanding of high availability and redundancy fundamentals, and an expert Knowledge on VPN technologies.
• A working knowledge of network security is an added advantage
• Demonstrable project experience of taking the customer requirements and producing detailed network designs incorporating up-to-date technologies, and that require minimal operational support
  
• A good exposure to WAN Technology like leased lines, Metro-Ethernet, frame relays, ISDNs, VSATs, GPRS/3G, ..
• Experience with deployment of Wireless networks, from design, deployment to maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Industry wide certifications will be an added advantage
• Should have the ability to manage and work within a larger team and mentor junior team members

Qualification: 
• Atleast a B.E/B.Tech or equivalent degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications, or equivalent
• Relevant networking and telecommunication related certifications (CCNA, will be an added advantage).

Experience: Min 8 yrs of experience.
