Mechanical Engineer for Sparrows Offshore Services, Saudi Arabia (1 Year Experience)

    As part of an ambitious 5 years strategic growth plan we are looking for Riggings to join our Engineering and Operations team in Saudi Arabia.

    The main responsibility of this role is to provide on-site Rigging Supervision to our clients which involves the application of engineering knowledge and expertise to ensure that all rigging and lifting activities are completed correctly, safely and in accordance with local legislation and standards by means of defining and approving lifting plans for client work scopes. Additionally, the role requires the incumbent to build and maintain client relationships, provide safety leadership, maintain Sparrows HSEQ standards and continually develop in all aspects of crane, lifting and support service activities.

    There is a requirement for the incumbent to complete a rigorous training program and pass both written and practical examinations in relation to this role.
    Main Responsibilities

    Complete all required training and pass all examinations both written and practical required to gain necessary approvals

    Develop lift plans at site based on client requirements. This includes developing and documenting all necessary calculations and diagrams for use during lifting

    Approve all lifting activities at site ensuring that they comply with all safety, standards and legislation

    Travel to site locations including remote areas

    Liaise with clients and act as focal point for all lifting and rigging activities

    Promote Sparrows products and services

    Promote Health and Safety in and around the work site

    Build and maintain positive and constructive working relationships with customers, sub-contractors, management, team members and other colleagues.

    Work co-operatively and productively with others to ensure planning, technical integrity and successful completion of projects.

    Actively contribute to meetings and discussions.

    Assist with the development of team systems and working methods

    Qualifications & Experience

    Essential:

    A recognised Mechanical Engineering Degree
    Rigging qualification
    Excellent English language skills in reading, writing and oral
    To have attained or working towards a professional accreditation with an appropriate institute

    Desirable:

    Have crane awareness including terminology, environmental, manual handling and dynamics.
    Presentation skills
    Report writing
    Computer literate
    Proactive
