- 1 Role of the Position
Hygiene Officer reports directly to the Head of Quality, and is responsible for the implementation of Food Safety procedures, & Verification of Quality Systems ISO 22000 & ISO 9001.
2 Responsibilities and Accountabilities
Support and actively participate in delivery of the companys Objectives & Targets.
Implement and Maintain, Quality Management System in par with International Regulations
Implement the Safety Program through promotion of safe work practices throughout the catering company.
Advice management on the requirements, implementation status of Occupational Safety, Hygiene & Quality process
Implementation of the Food Safety Plan, HSE Plan & Quality Plan
Assist in developing Emergency /Contingency Plans
Ensuring that the companys Quality System is applied and effective.
Conduct Risk Analysis,- Identify unsafe acts, conditions, and hazards, Job Hazard Analysis, to reduce risk
Initiate Incident Investigations, root causes and identify corrective and preventative actions and report to management
Conduct regular inspections of the facility and report any non-conformance to functional heads, Follow up on corrective actions.
Liaise and attend meetings with the client and or Company Representative.
Identify Training needs, and train personnel involved, Demonstrate positive and decisive leadership
Conduct Hygiene/Quality Audits at scheduled sites and ensure compliance to Hygiene standards.
Follow up on proper close out of Hygiene Audits, with appropriate verification of the records & close outs.
Initiate Hazard Risk Analysis, Incident Investigation to ensure food related complaints are reduced
Impart training on Food Safety, GHP, GMP, GSP, Basic Fire Safety; create awareness on Hygiene requirements and standards.
Ensure compliance to local statutory & client requirements.
Coordinate for External Audits and conduct Internal Audits against the standards; ISO 9001 & ISO 22000.
Improve Quality Management System by incorporating new Quality Analysis Tools & improvement of staff awareness on Hygiene requirements.
Authority
Authorized to sign off NCR, CAR and assist QM in QA/QC Document changes. Represent the company on QA/QC matters.
3 Selection Criteria
Degree in Food Technology/Food Microbiology
Certifications Food Safety/HACCP level 3
IA or LA - ISO 9001/ISO 22000
Previous experience in a similar role, minimum 5 years
Good written and verbal communication.- English & Hindi
3.2 Desirable
High computing skills.
Internal Auditor
Training Skills/Experience
Tamil/Malayalam communication skills
Knowledge of Occupational Safety requirements
4 Additional Information
Travelling: 70/30
Ergonomics: Standing / Bending
Project Location may vary from City to Desserts, and Service type from Institutional to Industrial Catering & Life support services.
