Department: Transport Reporting to: TRANSPORT MANAGER / GROUP PLANT & TRANSPORT MANAGER
Construction Industry mainly Earthmoving and Infrastructure
No. of assets in fleet = 2,500
Heavy equipment: All sorts of earthmoving equipment; cranes; asphalt & concreting equipment etc.
Heavy Vehicles: Tipper Trucks, Tractors w/Tipper Trailers; Tractors w/ flatbed & lowbed trailers, Trucks w/cranes, Water Tank Trucks, Transit mixers, etc.
Light Vehicles: Passenger cars, SUVs, Pick-ups, Minibuses, Buses etc.
Site support & Light Equipment: Generators, towerlights, plate compactors, etc
Experience / Knowledge:
Sound experience in a construction environment and in managing fleets at multiple sites and remote locations.
Having worked in the Middle East in a similar position within a Construction Company for at least 5 years of which a minimum of 3 years with the same Company.
Degree from Technical school or above
Fluency in Spoken / Written English is a must Hindi / Urdu / will be considered as a plus as this will help the communication with the existing Indian / Pakistani operators and drivers.
Sound knowledge in computing such as Text and Spreadsheet editing and e-mail communication.
Having experience in ERP is a plus
Capable of identifying the right type and size of equipment or vehicle for each job.
Knowledge of dos and donts in the operation of the equipment / vehicles is a must in order to guarantee the end users and others safety and the safety of equipment themselves and to prevent the fleet from misuse or extraordinary damages.
Knowing how to operate heavy equipment and/or driving heavy vehicles himself is a plus.

Assists Transport Manager as Functional Deputy
Assists and consciously trains the Transport Foremen
Responsible for the day-to-day activities and general functions of the Transport Department such as equipment and manpower allocation, manpower issues, accidents, insurance, road permits, Quality and Environmental Policy related issues co-ordination, timesheets etc.
Responds to all emergency situations involving equipment needs and arranges logistics and transfers
Responsible for the appropriate and efficient operation of each asset in the companys fleet.
Monitors the Fleet end users training and progress
Responsible for the appropriate and efficient operation of each asset in the companys fleet.
Responsible for the end users and others safety and the safety of equipment themselves and to prevent the fleet from misuse or extraordinary damages.
Ensures that the operators and Drivers are performing the daily equipment inspection as per the Daily Operators Equipment Inspection Checklist.
Liaises with all Project Managers and supports them as per their site requirements.
Pays frequent visits to sites and carries out physical inspections.
Accountable for all Fuel related activities
Reviews and confirms accuracy of all Transport Dpt. related Reports, Lease contracts, Invoices, Petty cash statements, or any other official document prior to Transport Managers approval.
Candidate should have Graduate / Post Graduate Degree in Environmental Science or NEBOSH Diploma in Environment , with minimum 4 - 8 years experience related to Construction field. Knowledge of Noise, Air and Water monitoring, Waste Management, Environmental aspect / impact assessments is essential.
