Electrical Engineer for Rapiscan Systems in Johor Bahru, Malaysia

Work Location: Johor Bahru (Malaysia)

Responsibilities:
  • Research, develop, design, test and implement firmware for embedded devices and control systems from requirements to production and commercial launch
  • System level and board level design
  • Adherence to safety regulations, the machinery directive and standards UL, TUV, CSA, FCC, CE, etc.
  • Conduct code reviews, create and maintain requirements and specification documents
  • Ability to read and understand design specifications, electronic schematics, and mechanical and technical drawings.
  • Designing electrical and electronics control systems, for products and machinery
  • Researching suitable solutions, electronic component selection and estimating costs and lead-times
  • Developing test rigs, models and prototype control systems
  • Supervising and assisting the wiring of control modules and prototype machinery
  • Recording, analyzing and interpreting test data, as required
  • Collaborate with a diverse team of engineers to solve complex problems

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering preferred
  • 5-7 years hands-on experience in Electrical Engineering highly desired.
  • Experience in electrical schematics entry and board layout, Altium and AutoCAD electrical experience preferred
  • Experience in design of Analog, Digital, mixed-signal processing circuits.
  • Expert in embedded TCL, C, C++ development under RTOS and Linux.
  • Knowledge of Texas Instruments development environment, tools, and SOCs a definite plus.
  • Experience with Microcontrollers (Ti, Atmel, Intel), FPGAs (Xilinx, Altera), PIC, DSP, and PLDs.
  • A solid understanding of embedded firmware, including: interrupts, ADCs, I2C, SPI, clock management, Real Time Operating Systems and advanced analog/digital signal processing.
  • Experience developing and debugging software on embedded processors & FPGAs utilizing JTAG or similar.
  • Expertise in FPGA VHDL/Verilog firmware development using Xilinx tools a plus.
  • Knowledge of modeling and simulation using ModelSim and Altium.
  • Communication protocols experience in TCP, UDP, I2C, SPI, RS232, RS485, and USB. Experience in Ethernet traffic monitoring and troubleshooting using Wireshark or similar tools.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
