JOB DESCRIPTON:
The Pipeline Engineer will be acting as specialist within the offshore engineering team and assisting the Pipeline Lead Engineer and the overall engineering team for all technical matters related to Pipeline design and installation engineering activities.
To be successful as Engineer, you should demonstrate sound knowledge of the relevant Engineering discipline and be able to anticipate problems. Outstanding Engineers should have great attention to detail and be able to handle stress well.
Roles & Responsibility
- Reviewing all relevant design engineering documents throughout all project phases. This includes typically wall thickness sizing, expansion, free spanning, stability, fatigue, ECA, lateral buckling, pipe walking, spools/ jumpers design, layouts, etc
- Reviewing all relevant installation engineering documents throughout all project phases. This includes typically pipelay analyses, flexible and umbilical analyses.
- Coordinates engineering, construction, operation, and maintenance activities of cross-country pipeline used to transport crude oil, petroleum products, natural gas, or coal slurry from transmission to distribution terminal.
- Assisting in Qualification activities for critical items, such as welds fatigue testing and fracture mechanics testing.
- Assisting, as may be necessary, in Manufacturing, Fabrication/ Welding, Installation and Pre-commissioning activities and assisting in the resolution of technical issues when necessary
- Assisting in resolution of interface issues as necessary
- Assisting in analysis of Contractor technical queries and preparation of comments and proposed answers to these queries
- Ensuring that Engineering activities are performed in line with contractual requirement and specifications and issue proper derogations, if required
- Directs and coordinates, through other management personnel, scheduling, measuring, transmission, and maintenance activities to make sure efficient operation of pipelines minimize losses.
- Authorizes procurement of equipment, materials, and supplies required for operations maintenance.
- Responsible for coordination of construction operations to ensure they coincide with the overall established schedules.
- Maintains relationships with the client and their representatives, as assigned.
- Performs general administrative functions inherent in jobsite supervisory positions.
- Administers a security plan and coordinates the activities with corporate security department.
- Ensures corporate policies and procedures are fully implemented. Establishes field procedures and objectives within corporate policies and procedures, as necessitated by conditions at a jobsite
- Develops plans to meet expanded demands & requests engineering section to design and prepare specifications for expanded facilities capacity, award construction contracts and assign project engineering personnel for on-site direction.
- Ensuring that HSE requirements are taken into consideration during document review
- Comply with INTECH health and safety policies and general site safety rules and to report any injury, near miss or potentially unsafe condition / hazard or any other occurrence which may cause injury to personnel damage to equipment or affect the local environment using the correct reporting lines.
- Support and comply with Quality, HSE, Company Policies and ISO management system documentations and implementations.
Desired Candidate Profile
Relevant experience in pipeline design and installation engineering activities
- Previous exposure to pipeline, flexible and umbilical installation operations is preferred
- the proper implementation of Project Technical requirements (Project Specifications and International codes) as well as good industry practices regarding pipeline design
- the structural integrity of the pipeline as per design
- Ability to get along well with others in an international and multi-cultural environment
- Ability to multi-task and work as part of small and flexible team.
- Fluency in the English language.
- Fluid communicator capable to represent the project
- Graduate degree in a relevant engineering discipline or equivalent.
