We are looking to recruit a Senior Crane Mechanic to join our team at Sparrows in Qatar.The main purpose of the Mechanical technician is to support onshore and offshore scopes of work maintaining Electric Overhead Cranes or as required by Project Team
MAIN PURPOSE:
The main purpose of the Mechanical technician is to support onshore and offshore scopes of work maintaining Electric Overhead Cranes or as required by Project Team.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Carry out general mechanical duties as instructed by Mechanical Supervisor
- Deputise for mech supervisors wherever possible to enhance skills required for professional development
- Execute repairs and maintenance of equipment in accordance with company and statutory regulations
- Support offshore scopes of work under the instruction of supervisor
- Conduct troubleshooting independently or as part of a team
- Uphold the high technical and H&S standard expected from a Sparrows employee
- Assist Ops Manager as required
- Look to achieve the technical and profession skill levels form promotion to Supervisor
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:
- Engage and complete in-house competency modules in conjunction with plan agreed via workshop manager
- Experience in cranes and lifting maintenance essential - Electric overhead cranes specifically
- Experience in mechanical trade (7 years)
- Confident report writing skills
- Competent in using MS Office
- Must speak English
HSEQ RESPONSIBILITIES:
It is mandatory that the incumbent is familiar with the Company's HSEQ Policy and takes an active role in the compliance and improvement of Sparrows Integrated Management System. The incumbent must report any incidents, near misses, actual or potential problems with products, services or systems to their Line Manager.
The incumbent also has legal responsibilities under country-specific health and safety legislation to follow all Company processes and procedures and familiarise themselves with the emergency response arrangements applicable to them. The incumbent is also responsible for the health and safety arrangements of subordinates (if any) and for any persons visiting them while on the Company premises
