Demi Chef De Partie for Cerf Island Resort, Seychelles

 Minimum 2 years of Experience is required in continental hot kitchen of a 4*/5* Hotel


Contract Term: 2 years with 6 months probation (if candidate doesn't pass probation, he will pay for the return air ticket)


Food & Accommodation: 3 meals per day provided in the staff canteen, sharing accommodation will be provided on the island -in the resort premises- no family can be accommodated.


Salary: USD 650 (gross-subject to personal income tax as per local tax regulations)


Working hours: flexible, with minimum 54 hours per week, 6 working days including weekends and shift work. One day off per week taken on the day available depending hotel’s operational requirement.


Main Requirement for the job:


  • Skilled in all styles of cooking, including international, continental and fusion
  • Able to perform daily Early Morning Kitchen Opening and preparing breakfast for guests as well as for the canteen.
  • To be actively involved in the preparation of cooking and serving of all the food and kitchen drink items offered to Hotel Guests and staff.
  • To make sure guest food is prepared according to standard of 5* level and served appropriately keeping right temperatures, health & safety in mind.
  • To be able to handle the guest meal orders independently with out any supervision.
  • To constantly improve the standards of food preparation.
  • To ensure that service to the Restaurant staff is always quick and efficient.
  • To ensure that all equipment is operated correctly and to report any deficiency to the Head chef/Sous Chef.
  • To ensure that correct checking procedures are followed prior to issuing food.
  • To ensure the correct usage of the hotel stocks and safeguard the same against pilferage and wastage.
  • To maintain a high level of personal hygiene as involved in food handling.
  • To assist when necessary in the setting up and service buffets and barbecues.
  • To supervise the work of the kitchen stewards ensuring that the kitchen areas and equipment are clean and tidy.
  • To replace the Staff Chef when necessary.
  • To clean up his/her own working area and keep it neat & tidy at all times.
  • To undertake shift work.
  • To perform any other duties as may be assigned in the interest of the Company.
  • Although not mandatory, some experience / knowledge of pastry department is desirable.
  • Able to read and write as well communicate fluently in English.
  • Able to work flexible hours, shifts including split, holidays and weekends
  • Able to work under pressure in busy environment.
