The Operations Engineers role is to ensure the stability, integrity and efficient operation of the hosted IT infrastructure systems that support core organizational functions. This is achieved by monitoring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all networked software and associated server operating systems. The Operations Engineer will apply proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate, and resolve issues in order to maximize the benefit of IT systems investments.

    Roles & Responsibilities: 
    • Responsible for all servers, server-side software, and infrastructure equipment in an optimal running state as daily basis. This covers corporate data centers and site server rooms with local resources provide first level administration.
    • Responsible for incident/problem troubleshooting to reduce Mean Time to Isolation (MTTI), and Mean Time to Resolution (MTTR) and achieve maximum service up-time.
    • Escalate quickly to next level or vendor if issues are complicated or beyond the engineer knowledge/capabilities.
    • Enforce Security policy and take actions on security incidents on servers or conduct vulnerability remediation
    • Participate in a 24/7 on-call support and work as shift
    • Monitor and test system performance; prepare and deliver system performance statistics and reports

    Quality & Governance:
     
    • Act on audit remediation items
    • Act on routine compliance tasks (such as data center physical access review, systems admin review etc.)
    • Align with all internal IT processes and practices, including Security Policies, Backup Policies, Change and Problem Management etc.
    • Ensure 100% adherence to all company policies and procedures (i.e. Security, Health, Safety and Quality)
    • Maintain thorough knowledge regarding emerging or current technologies

    Planning & Communication skills:
     
    • Understand and ensure compliance to Jabil IT strategy, objectives and road-map
    • Understand and embrace the business and IT strategic direction
    • Adhere to all safety and health rules and regulations associated with this position and as directed by supervisor
    • Work with capacity team to provide input and review quarterly capacity usage. Provide input for quarterly forecast based on results of capacity trends
    • Good written, oral and interpersonal communication skills
    • Ability to conduct research into systems issues and products as required.
    • Highly self motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail.
    • Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
    • Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment

    Educational & Experience:
     
    • Diploma or bachelor degree on computer science/engineering utilizing common programming or scripting languages skills a plus
    • Prefer minimum one or two years experience with Microsoft server platform, virtulization/Hper-V, Active Directory, backup software(ArcServe/NetBackup) SAN concept and popular server hardware platform
    •  Knowledge with SAN, Linux OS, Citrix VDI or cloud/converged infrastructure is a plus
    • Experience with antivirus programs, OS patching and systems monitoring tools
