Degree or Diploma in Industrial Safety or any Engineering discipline with a min 5 years of relevant experience in a Petrochemical / Oil & Gas environment as Safety Officer

Development of project specific safety programs, safety training of employees, conducting toolbox talks and safety meetings.

Maintaining a surveillance program to check day-to-day safe working practices on site and for any hazardous plant or site conditions

Correcting unsafe practices of contractor personnel as observed, conduct daily safety audits, daily/weekly equipment inspections (welding machines, mobile equipments, rigging gear, tools, fire extinguishers, SCBAs, respirators, body harnesses, special tools etc.)

Conduct work permit compliance audits, maintain a ready supply of protective clothing and safety equipment and issuing PPE items as required and enforce strict compliance to PPE program.

Preparing reports on incidents/accidents or emergencies in the plant or on-site, investigating and reporting on causes, results and implement corrective actions to avoid re-occurrences. 

Prepare Job Safety Analysis / Task Risk Analysis for critical activities and routine maintenance activities.

Supervise housekeeping and health/hygiene/environment related activities.

Must have technical knowledge / familiarity with Petrochemical / Oil & Gas construction industry

NEBOSH Certified                                                     

Excellent communication skills in English language
