Assistant Registrar (Finance & Admin)
Experience: 5 to 10 yrs.
Reporting to the Registrar, the post holder is responsible for all functions and services related to the registration and graduation of students. As part of the Registrar team, is responsible for ensuring enrolment goals are met, consistent with the Institute Strategic Plan and System priorities.
This position has responsibility for the Institutes budget including: planning of the annual budget; preparing estimates and forecasts as required; developing and utilizing relevant reporting tools related to finance, budget and staff planning files; monitoring budget activity; approving and allocating funds including payment authorizations for suppliers and service providers; following up on discrepancies.
Under the general direction of the Registrar, the post-holder provides effective and efficient service and support to the overall mission of the Institute by providing overall financial, operational and infrastructure management for the centre.
This includes: responsibility for the departments budget and financial planning, assessment of research space and equipment, advising Faculty on budget strategies for grant applications, and providing advice on compliance and oversight issues in a rapidly evolving regulatory environment
Master's degree and five years of experience in college administration, including three years in a records' office, demonstrating ability to formulate and implement relevant policy and supervision of staff required. Knowledge of an integrated database system.
Minimum 5 years Experience
- At least five years senior management experience of student related administration in a reputable university.
- Experience of successfully implementing strategic initiatives in a higher education institution
- Experience of student and academic administration in an international university
- Experience of the management of staff and departmental processes and of developing and maintaining records systems, operational procedures and management tools;
- Forward thinking, student centred and service oriented approach is essential;
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Access
- Successful experience in managing budgets
- Relevant successful experience in planning and the implementation and monitoring of strategic objectives.
- A firm grasp of Accounting and Auditing Policies

Provide strategic leadership and development of the Institutes Academic programs and ensuring the provision of professional, customer focused services in support of the Institute's strategic priorities. Responsible for the academic administration of the Institute, including the management, co-ordination and delivery of Student Achievement, Assessment, Department and Program Administration
Student Administration and Student Support Services.
Under the Direction of the Registrar the post holder will be responsible for the development and operational management and delivery of all Quality Assurance and Enhancement activity. The post-holder will work collaboratively with academic and non-academic staff across the Institution to enhance the Student Learning experience
