JOB TITLE: TECHNICAL DEPARTMENT MANAGER
REPORTS TO: PRODUCTION DIVISION MANAGER
PREFERED CANDIDATES WITH EXCELLENT BACKGROUND FROM STEEL INDUSTRY.
Role Purpose:
* To manage and lead the Technical function, providing the required expertise so that Production and Inventory Plans meet the dynamic needs of the Sales plan, coordinating the activities of Production, Maintenance and Procurement/Warehousing and assisting with innovative projects to ensure that manufactured products are delivered on time, to the right specification and quantity.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1.) Provide leadership and clear direction so that staff is energised to seek demanding standards while recognising their contribution so that they feel strongly motivated and empowered.
2.) Develop, implement and review the Production Plan in a proactive and efficient manner so that Production is able to deliver against the sales targets set.
3.) Develop, implement and review the Inventory Plan to support the Production Plan to ensure continuity of Production with manufacturing lines correctly balanced and stock levels cost effectively minimised.
4.) Develop new and innovative projects which increase the value added of the plant and associated manufacturing processes.
5.) Liaise closely and co-ordinate the activities of Sales, Production, Procurement & Warehousing, Maintenance and Projects so that an optimum is achieved in terms efficiency while these functions proactively respond to change and are highly responsive to customer needs.
6.) Responds rapidly to emergencies, ensuring that Production targets are not unnecessarily prejudiced by unforeseen changes so that delays or compromises to specification are minimised.
7.) Develop staff in line with Saudisation and Succession plans ensuring that future plans are met by highly qualified, committed and motivated staff.
8.) As a member of the top team helps develop the strategic program of Al Solb Steel,Jizan in Saudi Arabia provides advice to the Production Manager and other members of the General Managers team which ensures that Economic Value Added is optimised.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
* Minimum academic qualifications include BSc from a recognised college or university plus post-graduate training in relevant subjects associated with the Technical function.
* Around 12 year experience of the industry required with at least 5 years in a senior position managing multi-culture, multi-national teams.
