Procurement Engineer for Nigeria

Opportunity with one of the biggest Biscuit Manufacturing & Confectionery  Company in Nigeria.

Designation: Procurement Engineer

Job Location: Lagos, Nigeria

Qualification: Any Engineering Graduate.

Experience: Minimum 05 Years' experience in procurement of materials in a Food manufacturing Company.


• Technocommercial evaluation and preparation of comparative statements
• Generating PO for services and materials,
• Followup on material delivery and documentation requirements,
• Follow procedures for inspection, documentation requirements, delivery requirements, etc
• Vendor evaluation & Vendor registration
• Generating reports in Navision and MS-EXCEL for the Purchase requisitions, POs, cost spending etc 
• Generating vendor database for the materials and services.
• Float BOQ & requirements to vendors / contractors & follow up and obtain open and sealed bids/quotes 
• Responding to customer and supplier inquiries, reviewing requisition orders to verify accuracy, Specifications and terminology, and comparing prices, specifications and delivery dates to determine the best bid among potential suppliers. 
• A procurement Engineer/Officer must also prepare, maintain and review purchasing files, report price lists, track the status of requisitions, contracts and orders, locate suppliers, approve bills for payment, calculate the cost of orders, charge or forward invoices to the appropriate accounts, and monitor in-house inventory transfer forms for bookkeeping records.
• Interview, prospective suppliers either face-to-face or over the phone to check prices. They then put together spreadsheets with price comparisons and other bits of information about each prospective supplier Administers bidding process and contracts for vendor performance/compliance within established limits (e.g. prepare specifications, evaluate bids, recommend vendors, conduct bid meetings, etc.) for the purpose of securing items and/or services within budget 
• Maintains purchasing information, files and records (e.g. Requests for Proposal, purchase orders, vender files, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring the availability of documentation and Guidelines for Procurement of Goods, Works and Services.
• Organizes annual surplus auction for the purpose of providing an efficient process for the dispose of obsolete equipment
• Researches contracts, suppliers, equipment and regulations, including evaluation of new products for the purpose of analyzing information to determine product and/or service need and availability as necessary.
• Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective purchasing. 
• All engineering stores management including inventory verification, valuation, stock maintaining , codification of items, 5S in stores, 
• Classification of inventory into A , B & C and setting up ROQ and Safety stock to avoid plant stoppage
• Markey survey which involved going to all local markets to collect vendor details and create proper vendor base.
