JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES
To ensure the provision of a first line professional response to customers on financial matters, whether through face-to-face, telephone or e-mail.
Prepare budgets, monthly and quarterly reports, cash flow statements, profit and loss statements, balance sheets and other accounting reports as required
To analyse Company accounts, making recommendations based upon financial performance against key indicators
To manage the tax affairs of the Company, including adequate provisioning q Prepare accounts for audits, both internal and external
Managing cash flow, collections and suppliers q Monitor the credit given by the Company and ensure adequate measures are implemented for credit control, including debt collection procedures
Ensuring proper approvals in place for expenses and assets
Monthly payrolls, staff social funds and taxes q Ensure compliance with local authorities, value added tax, corporate tax
Monthly intercompany reconciliation and settlements q Compliance with insurances.
Assist line manager in devising, implementing cost cutting measures Competencies Required q Thoroughly competent in basic accounting practices
Capable in identifying the weaknesses and areas of concern q Able to correspond with Agents and clients worldwide
Demonstrates a knowledge of the basic principles of accounting in respect of Sea, Air and Land transport systems
Demonstrates a knowledge of the processes and procedures involved in freight forwarding
Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of and skills in using spreadsheets & email
Competent in producing reports of various types
