- An expanding and highly successful Client in UK, have an exciting opportunity for a SQL DBA to join enterprise scale projects and progress their career.
- Install, configure, upgrade, administer and monitor databases and associated products
- Perform backups and recovery
- Undertake database planning
- Take ownership of service requests, managing client expectations and working within SLA's
- Identify strategic solutions to recurring issues/problems
- Undertake regular system checks and Apply security best practice
- Coach colleagues on new technologies or systems
- Patching, Performance tuning and monitoring
- Adherence to the Incident Management and Change Management process
- Producing documentation and BAU activities
- Resolution of incidents and problems
- Represent SQL Server support team in meetings with customers, management and other technical specialists
- Provide 24/7 support as part of an on-call rota
- A solid background of at least 6+ years in database administration is required. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in administration within a highly professional environment.
- 3+ years production SQL Server database administration on 2008R2 and 2012 (Enterprise & Standard editions)
- Maintenance of business critical systems
- Windows Clustering and other HADR technologies
- Experience in administering and deploying to SSRS, SSIS and SSAS environments
- Windows 2003/2008/2008R2/2012 experience
- Experience of working within a virtualized environment, including virtualized SQL Servers using VMWare
- Vast SQL experience
- Exposure to SQL 2005, 2008 & SQL 2012 R2
- Sybase 12.5
- Oracle (8,9,10,11)
- Windows Server 2003, 2008 & 2012
- Having worked in a clustered Database administrator using Veritas or Microsoft Cluster
