Qualifications and Experience
A minimum of:Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a major in Accounting, Finance or related areas with a minimum of 8 years of related experience
Supervisory-level accounting experience is required (2 + years).
Professional certificate (i.e. CPA, CMA or CA) is required.
Considerable knowledge of the principles and practices of the following functions of accounting: Cost & Project accounting, Consolidation accounting and Tax & Zakat accounting.
Knowledge of International Accounting Standards (e.g. IFRS) and SOCPA (Saudi Organization for Certified Public Accountants)
Proficiency in both English and Arabic Language
Major Duties and Responsibilities
Develop and update the strategy, goals and targets of the finance and accounting department.
Develop milestones and plans for the finance and accounting department to achieve its goal.
Develop the annual budget for the finance and accounting department and ensure cost and expenditure are within the set budget.
Manage the implementation of the strategic initiatives, as applicable to finance and accounting, and communicate expectations to all individuals within the department.
Manage the implementation and improvement of the finance and accounting guidelines, policies and procedures and ensure compliance across all departments.
Responsible for supervising the subordinate accountants and providing approvals on their transactions based on delegated level of authority with respect to:
Financial Reporting & Consolidation Accounting
Tax & Zakat Accounting
Planning & Budgeting
Receive and review the consolidated financial reports of the entire group from the financial accountant and submit to CFO for approval.
Supervise month-end closing process by reviewing or creating adjusting journal entries related to tax & zakat and other closing journals and accruals as necessary.
Supervise the financial consolidation accounting activities for AL-Ghazzawi group.
Supervise the preparation of the financial statements (income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements) of AL-Ghazzawi group.
Oversee and monitor inter-company transfers and the reconciliation of all inter-company accounts for AL-Ghazzawi group.
Ensure the proper accounting of tax & zakat on the consolidated financial reports of the entire Group.
Supervise the filing, preparation and obtainment of the tax and zakat certificate with the assistance of the external auditor office, responding to all enquiries and concerns of the tax & zakat government department and implementing the applicable legal clauses.
Manage the budgeting process and assist department managers in the preparation of their assumptions and budgets.
Set the provisional timetable to be followed for the budget process (approved by the Board of Directors).
Manage the design and preparation of the budget forms, models and templates to be used by department managers throughout AL-Ghazzawi group in the budgeting process and enhance the budget techniques and procedures.
Communicate the budget guidelines, templates, time schedule, and assumptions to all personnel involved in the budgeting process.
Manage the distribution of budgeting forms, models and templates to all AL-Ghazzawi group departments.
Coordinate and oversee the budgeting process at the Corporate and Sectors.
Review, discuss and consolidate the Corporate and Sectors budgets and forecasts.
Manage the preparation of the consolidated annual budget for the entire AL-Ghazzawi Group including: capital expenditure, operating expenditure, and manpower planning budgets.
Manage the compilation, review and preparation of the budget financial statements: income statement, and balance sheet.
