Role Purpose:
To provide specialist HSE inspection and monitoring services, in order to support the effective implementation and maintenance of high quality HSE systems, standards and procedures across the organization.

Responsibilities:
1. Provide professional advice and guidance to internal customers on HSE issues in own area in order to ensure that HSE policies and procedures are properly applied and implemented and high standards in HSE practice are achieved and maintained.
2. Manage the development and implementation of new initiatives in own area, managing small projects as required, in order to support the ongoing development of HSE standards.
3. Contribute to the development and/or implementation of functional and/or corporate projects in order to support the ongoing development of HSE standards
4. Monitor HSE procedural compliance across the QATAR STEEL organization in order to ensure that all systems are adhered to in support of the achievement of stated business objectives
5. Carry out regular inspection patrols in order to monitor compliance with HSE procedures and standards and identify potential risks and hazards, taking or recommending corrective action as appropriate
6. Report major problems/ unsafe conditions or act and areas of non-compliance to senior management in order to ensure that a high level of HSE performance is maintained and issues are resolved in a timely manner.
7. Investigate HSE incidents and near misses, identifying the root cause and ensuring the implementation of appropriate corrective action to ensure incidents do not recurrence 8. Oversee the collection and maintenance of data related to specific HSE functions in order to ensure that accurate and up to date records and statistics are established and maintained
9. Build and maintain co-operative working relationships with relevant Government bodies, national and international HSE organizations and HSE representatives from neighboring companies in order to share knowledge, information and best practice.
10. Communicate effectively with both other QATAR STEEL Departments and with external agencies in order to support the smooth provision of HSE services.
11. Communicate and promote the philosophy and activities of the HSE function in order to support the development of an organization culture that recognizes and values high HSE standards.
12. Analyze data and prepare reports as required, conducting additional research where necessary, to ensure that Senior Managers have the relevant information needed to support decision-making.
13. HSE Induction to provide Induction to the new QS employees and contractors. Other HSE related trainings needs to schedule and conduct on timely.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS
* University Degree / Diploma level in Health and Safety, Preferably NEBOSH
* Certified member of OSHA, IOSH
* 5-7 Years Experience in Industrial Health, Environment And Safety
* Minimum 3 years experience within Steel or Aluminum Industries
* Experience of working in High Risk Environment
* Experience in Middle East Preferred
* Sound understanding of HSE systems and procedures
* Competent in Risk Assessment
* Train the Trainer Certified
* Good communication skills written and verbal
* Report writing, Analytical and Problem Solving Skills
* Good English language skills
* Confident in Liaising with Senior Management
* Computer Literate, Microsoft Excel, Word & PowerPoint
