Highway Engineer for Saba Engineering Plc in Rwanda / Ethiopia

Development of General Arrangement, Road Layout, Setting out, Typical Cross sections, Longitudinal Sections, String Layouts, Traffic Signs Layouts, Pavement Marking Layouts & Road Safety Barrier Layouts Detailed Design Drawings & design of project on the Road Design software. Job also involves coordination with client, services/ utilities concerned departments.

Checking and exploitation of survey data, preparation of digital terrain model, Roundabout Design checks & creating entry path deflection/ curvature, Earthwork.

Processing of field survey data for ground modeling to generate cross sections, contour maps and topographic sheets by using Mx Road /Eagle Point. 

Marking of alignments using design software and finally selecting the most economical and suitable route for the alignment keeping in view the topographical conditions.

Management of drafting section in preparation of drawings and other allied project drawings.

Provide Guidance to Junior Engineers in related field. 

Capable of taking full duties and responsibilities of designing

Multilane urban road projects
Ring roads
Express ways and Flyovers
Experience on urban traffic studies. 

Able to manage full design team on other design projects.
Candidate should have minimum 10 years of experience in the planning and design of freeways, interchanges, roads and urban streets, Ring roads and flyovers.

Experience in designing internal and external roadways for cities.

Experience with traffic engineering and signal design for urban projects.

Experience in working with LDD, HLD, and Civil-3D.

Skilled in planning drainage and storm water management.

Strong knowledge of AutoCAD, Inroads, MX Road, Micro Station, Civil-3D.

Ability to handle projects from design to completion.

Good working knowledge of the geometric design standards of AASHTO, Urban Street Design Manual.

Sound knowledge of road pavement materials, hydrology & Hydraulics soil & material investigation, lab test and interpretation.

Must be ready to relocate at Rwanda / Ethiopia.
