- Education and Training Requirements:
Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering
6-8 years work experience and 4 years in Oil & Gas Industry
Offshore site experience is mandatory.
Middle East experience is mandatory.
Proficient in MS Office applications.
Good English communication skills (verbal and written).
Skills and Competency Requirements:
Knowledge of the IEC, BS, NFPA and other international standards.
Knowledge of hazardous area classification and selection of suitable equipment.
Knowledge of electrical codes.
Ability to review/evaluate customer project specifications to identify electrical hardware, control panel, power and rotating requirements.
Ability to size and select power components to be used in and with control panels.
Experience to estimate based on specification and proposed solution.
Ability to design cost effective solutions and application of value added engineering.
Experience in preparing scope of work for contractors and audit/monitor their work at site.
Experience in preparing project documentation. (FDS, BOM, SLD, interface wiring, FAT/SAT procedures, method statements, installation work-packs etc.)
Working knowledge of automation associated with electrical systems.
Experience in participating project meetings with clients, consultants.
Experience in sizing of UPS, battery banks, SMDB and MDB including preparation of load lists, upstream and downstream cable sizing calculations etc.
Understanding of fault coordination.
Experience in installation & understanding of lightning and surge protection requirements.
Experience in installation & understanding of earth pit requirements for Y/Delta and Delta/Delta distribution systems.
Experience in installation requirements for laying LV cables over ground and underground including cable specs and types required for an oil & gas installation.
Exposure / awareness of site HSE & Safety requirements (PTW , JSA etc) in oil & gas installations
