Quantity Surveyor for Doha, Qatar

Role : Electrical and Instrumental Quantity Surveyor within the organization of an Italian company operating in the installation of Electrical and Instrumentation systems and plants.

Location : Doha, Qatar.

Requirements

Education : Bachelor's/ Degree in Electrical / Instrumental Engineering or equivalent

Languages : Good communication skills in English both oral and written

Informative Systems : MSOffice Package (Word, Excel, Power Point), Windows Operating
System, Fair Knowledge of Primavera and Autocad

Work experience : 8 years minimum

Age : 30 years on.

Competence and Skills

Knowledge of estimation/ extracting quantities from Electrical and Instrumentation drawings/ scope description;

Responsible for the measurement and pricing of the construction work, as proposed to the construction work described and measured in the contract;

Measuring daily progress of work at construction site

Recognize Variation orders for activities not in the scope of work;

Generate the document for invoices that will be billed to the Contractor for payment;

Budget allocation and monitoring;

Provide Technical support and assessment to Contracts Engineer, approved variations and claims (when raised by Contractor);

Closely monitor subordinate performance, related to his discipline, and advises the
Project/Construction Manager in case of deficiency or poor performance

Reporting to the Project/Construction.

Role Description

QS control construction costs by accurate measurement of the work done on a daily basis, of, labor, materials and plant used, an understanding of the implications of design decisions at an early stage to ensure that good value is obtained for the money to be expended.

Performs regular visits to Project site to verify that construction related activities are in compliance with the daily report received by the Supervisor
