Specialist Engineer FEM (Civil, Offshore or Mechanical Engineering)

(Candidates with experience from semiconductor/hightech/machine building environment industry may apply).

We are looking for a Specialist Engineer FEM to join our R&D and Specialist Engineering Section. The Specialist Engineer FEM coordinates FEM work, develops standards and methods and assures up-to-date procedures and standards are implemented and maintained. Our Specialist Engineer FEM also supports project teams and our Technical Department with analyses for installing, removing and transporting offshore structures and participates in feasibility and R&D studies

Tasks
Act as focal point for FEM related queries.
Coordinate FEM work and act as senior towards other (FEM) Engineers.
Resolve engineering issues and recommend solutions to problems related to structural elements using FEM analyses.
Perform linear and bi-linear analyses and solve buckling and fatigue problems.
Perform 3D modelling and FEM analyses on project related topics, our vessels and project equipment. 
Define SHLs engineering standards and ensure compliancy with standards and relevant codes.
Initiate and participate in R&D work.

Requirements
Master level in Civil, Offshore or Mechanical Engineering.
Minimum of 5 to 10 years working experience in FEM analyses.
High level of seniority and considered an expert in FEM analyses.
Knowledge of ANSYS is preferred.
Experience in the offshore construction industry is a big plus.
Excellent communication skills in English, both spoken and written.
Pro-active and a teamplayer.
Flexible and hands-on mentality.
Willing to travel abroad to sites and offshore to our vessels.


Mechanical System Architect (masters: Mechanics or Industrialisation)

Manufacturability and availability becomes more and more important for our customers. The amount of sold configurations and upgrades is rapidly increasing. While the machine performance (like overlay, focus, throughput) remains as important.
To be capable to handle this, we need additional architects. There are several open positions; therefor this job description is setup in a more generic way.

Job Mission
Take ownership on large part of machine. Create overview what is changing, and review those changes. Secure that all requirements for this module are met (over whole lifecycle).

Job Description
Maintain and update system level requirement docs
Perform studies. To find solutions for new functionality, upgrades and other improvements.
Regular reviews/ carousels with projects: 
o Review new designs & design changes on industrialization aspects (manufacturability, serviceability, modularity, etc)
o Monitor progress on reaching their system specifications
o Identify and solve cross-project issues. Involve SE in case of important trade offs
Define (and organize) test plan to validate system architecture
Education
Master degree: preferably in mechanics or industrialization.

Experience
3 years working experience as architect (or lead engineer), preferably at 
Field or factory experience (worked there or intensive collaboration)
Experience with at least 3 of the following topics: 
o Requirements engineering
o Industrialization
o Configuration management / BoM (Bill of Materials)
o Improving company processes & WoWs (Way of Workings)
o Siemens NX/TC (preferably in managing machine layouts)
o Pre-install

Personal skills
Can take ownership for a large module/system with many contributing projects
Helicopter view. Easily can determine priorities and main risks
Can think in company processes to get things done and better controlled
Pro-active in finding risks and opportunities regarding high quality products
Teamplayer on all levels (SE, architects, management, factory engineers)
Assertive. Starts pushing incase of low quality solutions

Context of the position
You will be part of the Mechanical Layout (ML) project, which is amongst others responsible for the mechanical system architecture. The team doesnt deliver hardware themselves, but has an overall responsibility, that the total system can be build, transported, installed and serviced in a safe and efficient way.


Engineering Design Manager (Marine, Civil or Mechanical Engineering)

We are looking for an Engineering Design Manager who can manage the design scope of permanent works (wind turbine foundations) such as jackets, monopiles, and transition pieces for EPCI projects.

Tasks:
Responsible for the entire (Engineering) Design scope for EPCI- tenders and projects.
Determine resources to manage and review the design scope.
Control engineering budgets (financial and man-hours). 
Manage structural, electrical and instrumentation design (sub)contractors.
Lead SHLs internal team involved in designing all structures and reviewing all necessary documentation.
Ensure that all designs performed by subcontractors are most cost-effective and in line with best practices in transport and installation.
Act as advisor in EPCI tenders for all design matters including specifications, codes and standards.
Select potential subcontractors for design of permanent works.
Advise and assist in developing Design Engineering competences.
Represent SHL during meetings with clients, subcontractors and other relevant organizations.
Report to the Engineering Director and Proposal Manager or Project Director EPCI.

Requirements:
At least a BSc-degree and preferably a MSc-degree (Marine, Civil or Mechanical Engineering).
At least 5 years of experience in management of designs in offshore wind.
Experience within the Offshore Transport en Installation Industry.
Experience in design and fabrication of wind turbine foundations.
Well-developed project management skills.
A good teamleader with well-developed people management skills.
Excellent knowledge of industry codes and standards and familiar with BSH (Bundesamt Seeschiffahrt Hydrographie) requirements and approval processes.
Excellent command of English.
Good conceptual thinker and excellent analytical skills.
Excellent planning and organizing skills.
Team worker.
Able to motivate and develop others.
Willing to travel frequently.
