Responsibilities: 

Dams Structural Engineer position is within the Civil Infrastructure Group as part of the Dams Team. This role will involve:

• Being part of the dams team providing structural design and civil design services to the various business lines within the Melbourne office and within Asia-Pacific, including dam and other infrastructure projects;
• Preparation of tenders and proposals;
• Participating in technical activities; and
• Generally supporting project teams around Asia Pacific in achieving stated goals.

Additionally, From time to time this person may be required to perform other related duties, provided that they are consistent with your skills, competencies and expertise. Occasionally travel to sites within Asia-Pacific or worldwide may be necessary as required by the project.

Qualifications 

A degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline (Essential)
Further studies in civil engineering, structural and/or geotechnical engineering or construction engineering (Highly Desirable)

Skills 

Excellent report writing and verbal communication skills
Strong design skills
Good technical and analytical skills
Demonstrated capability in the structural design of dams and appurtenant structures, including the preparation of design reports, design drawings and specifications
Well developed planning and organisational skills

Knowledge 

Civil engineering and civil design
Structural engineering including analytical skills (limit states and knowledge of the capabilities and application of numerical modelling)
Occupational Health & Safety
Knowledge of Microsoft Suite of programs essential

Experience 

Previous work experience in Dams engineering is essential
Previous experience in concrete structural design is essential
