Job Title: Plant Manager

Directly Reports to: Plant General Manager

Functionality Reports to: GM Manufacturing Operations

Directly Supervises: Plant Preventive Maintenance, Electrical Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, Utilities Engineer, RGB Line Manager, PET Line Manager, and Quality Control Manager.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the preparation of the Plant Manufacturing Business Plan.
  • Prepare the annual manufacturing KPIs for the plant: Volume, efficiency, yields, cost and quality.
  • Establish an effective Maintenance Management System in the plant and ensure its strict implementation.
  • Review and evaluate results against plan for the plant.
  • Ensure that corrective action is taken to address adverse variances.
  • Lead change and transformation agenda across the plant.
  • Develop short/medium term manufacturing plans to ensure that manufacturing capacity and capability can meet the projected sales volume for the plant.
  • Develop programs to improve plant performance.
  • Ensure that CAPEX projects within the plant, are executed within set timelines and budgets.
  • Ensure adherence to the highest Quality standards.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental and safety requirements.
  • Build an effective team based environment and motivate employees to optimize their performance within the plant.

Quality and Regulatory compliance:

o PI 3D Quality Scorecard.

o Consumer complaints per month.

o AIB & QAS audit results.

o NAFDAC and other regulatory body compliance.

Payroll, overtime and outsourced labor.

Candidate Profile:

  • HND/B. Sc. Mechanical Engineering, preferably from a Technical Institute.
  • 15 years of technical experience with a large beverage company, of which at least10 years in a senior manufacturing position.
  • Solid technical understanding of the bottling industry.
  • Proven experience working with glass bottles, PET and cans.

  • Will have a proven track record in managing a similar sized Bottling Plant.
  • Strong technical background.
  • Must have planned preventative maintenance schedules for the bottling lines.
  • Must have beverage bottling experience, with Glass, alongside PET and Cans experience.
  • Managed a CSD Plant with a minimum of 6 production lines
