Experience: 5 to 10 yrs.
JOB PURPOSE:
To ensure the safe passage of trains throughout the SAR network, and facilitate track access for maintenance activities, and work under the direction of the Chief train controller.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1- Maintain a thorough knowledge of rules and associated instructions.
2- Maintain a thorough knowledge of signaling control systems. Paper based (ERTMS)
3- Ensure that the safe operation of all lines on the SAR network is maintained.
4- Ensure Safety procedures are maintained and understood
5- Expedite track access for essential engineering activities.
6- Read and understand all publications relating to SAR operability.
7- Adopt proactive approach to operational incidents
8- Ensure reactive activities to operational incidents are methodical and detailed, always ensuring the overall safety of the railway and its customers are maintained.
9- Ensure that track work performed by maintainers or contractors is completed in accordance with approved procedures and in compliance with SAR operating instructions.
10- Ensures that SAR safety / operational regulations and requirements are met (compliance with provided Training)
11- Maintain written records and compile reports as directed.
12- Conduct staff training in accordance with training programs as directed.
13- Remain vigilant at all times.
14- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Chief Controller or Control Head.
15- Be willing to travel on behalf of SAR within and outside The Kingdom as directed.
SPECIAL FEATURES:
Minimum Qualification is an Electrical / Mechanical degree or diploma / Or 3 years experience in the field of train control
