The USP is one of two regional universities in the world and is the leading tertiary education provider and research facility in the South Pacific. The School of Accounting and Finance is one of the largest within the University of the South Pacific and offers programs in accounting, banking and finance at under and postgraduate levels. The School has over 3500 full-time students from twelve different island nations and fifteen different cultures. The School has over thirty-eight full-time academics who are actively engaged in research.

The Opportunity:

  • The appointee will teach degree level courses across the finance curriculum, preferably in two of the following areas of corporate finance;small business finance, international finance, financial risk management or portfolio and investment management.
  • The appointee will also be expected to contribute to teaching through the distance education mode at other University Campuses within the Pacific Islands.
  • The appointee will also be expected to contribute to the Schools postgraduate programs, including masters and PhD supervision.

The Person We Seek:
  • Applicants must have a PhD in the area of expertise from a leading university with either a formal tertiary qualification or good relevant tertiary (normally an aggregate of four years) teaching experience.
  • All applicants must demonstrate active interest in research work have tertiary teaching experience.
  • For appointment at Senior Lecturer Level, applicants must have significant (normally 10 years) tertiary teaching experience.

Preference will be given to applicants with experience in distance education and/or web-based teaching. The level of appointment will depend on qualifications and experience. 

Remuneration:
The position is available for a term of three years and may be renewed by mutual agreement.

Salary Range: 
Lecturer -              FJ$59, 813 to FJ$78, 700 per annum
Senior Lecturer-  FJ$81, 145 to FJ$93, 629 per annum
                               (Inclusive of 15% Gratuity)
