Position : HSE Manager

Job Description

1. Job Purpose

-The main purpose of the Project HSE Manager’s job is to manage HSE activities on site and ensure compliance with set quality, safety, and environmental policies and procedures

2. Principal Accountabilities

-Manages the HSE activities on site, reporting functionally to Corporate HSE Manager and administratively to the Project Director

-Audits, maintains, and improves ESEC’s safety procedures on project sites

-Responsible for the implementation, planning and facilitation of safety activities on site

-Ensures that Safety requirements, agreed specifications, standards and processes are complied 
with 

-Ensures that Safety Plan, check lists, Project Procedures are as required by the client
Conducts audits and reviews results to ensure compliance with the safety plan and the clients’
safety requirements of the contract 

-Supervises the assigned site safety team, and ensures that they are aware of the standards and 
procedures

-Intervenes and escalates matters if guidelines, safety-relevant procedures or targets are not 
complied with

-Reports the safety status based on determined KPI's as per the defined frequency

-Conducts assessments, reviews, and status meetings. Analyses results, and ensures effective 
improvement measures

-Monitors and inspects all activities related to project safety, including by third parties

-Conducts seminars & in-house safety awareness trainings 
-Maintains proper document control, records retention, and archives
-Provides support for the professional development (including training) of direct reports

3. Communications and Working Relationships

•Reports to and supports the Regional HSE Manager / Corporate HSE Manager on all quality matters
•Coordinates with Operations to ensure compliance with ESEC’s and client’s HSE standards
•Interfaces with ESEC Business Units / Divisions during HSE awareness trainings
•Interacts on a daily basis with all direct reports for operational and other business related matters / issues

4. Knowledge, Skills, and Experience 
• Bachelor in Engineering, relevant certificates
• Excellent leadership, interpersonal, communications, presentation, and organization / project 
management skills, and a proven ability to motivate and manage teams Minimum 8 years
experience in QSE in a comparable sized operation to ESEC
• Experience in the Middle East is a strong plus
• Fluent in English and preferably Arabic language
