Technical Engineer



Job Description

To help us continue our growth, we’re looking for an experienced Technical Engineer to join our team supporting all elements of our sales, but primarily those to the building services sector.


To be successful in this role, you should possess excellent technical knowledge of ventilation products and have a high level of communication skills. You should also be able to work independently but also collaboratively with your team.

You will be working for a multi-national company and will deliver a consistently high standard of technical assistance across all levels of the business.


Objectives of this role

  • Reporting to the Technical Manager to deliver technical support in regards to
    • new U.K. product design and development
    • technical document design
    • providing a technical service to the team
  • Remote site support in assistance to our Site Support Engineers, giving advice on product operation, installation (mechanical and electrical), set-up, fault-finding and maintenance
  • The Engineer will be a main point of contact and technical support to Regional Sales Managers and stakeholders

Daily and monthly responsibilities of the role

  • New U.K. product design and development, to include associated assembly instructions, test procedures and instruction booklets, plus existing product enhancement and modification
  • To produce and maintain engineering product structures on computer system
  • Document design, issue and control; instruction booklets, Standards, technical file (associated to designs)
  • Provide a technical service (drawings, wiring diagrams, BIM drawings) to the team
  • Remote Site Support in assistance to our Engineers, giving advice on product operation, installation (mechanical and electrical), set-up and maintenance
  • To log activity in CRM system
  • To assist clients by giving advice on product selection, operation, installation and maintenance in accordance with relevant Regulations/Standards
  • To assist S&P UK staff with technical/product enquires
  • To efficiently and effectively prioritise workload and meet deadlines


Essential Skills and Qualifications

  • At least 2 years’ experience working in similar industrial B2B business
  • Commercial awareness
  • Skilled in the use of various computer software packages including Microsoft Office and AutoCad
  • Strong skills with Excel
  • Ability to multitask
  • Personable and friendly with the ability to build relationships with all levels of the business
  • Eager to work within an international team
  • Ability to work well with key external stakeholders
  • Highly organised with an ability manage multiple projects and to work to deadlines
  • A keen eye for detail

Preferred Experience

  • Educated to Degree level or a Higher National Diploma in Engineering
  • Knowledge of working with CRM
  • A broad-based engineering background in Electro-Mechanical Disciplines
  • Experience of ventilation, pumps and or hydraulics would be an advantage

You will be working for a multi-national company and will deliver a consistently high standard of technical assistance across all levels of the business.



Objectives of this role

  • Reporting to the lead estimator and Technical manager to deliver technical quotations and support
  • Estimators are the main point of contact and sales support to Regional Sales Managers and stakeholders
  • To identify the commercial requirements in order to maximise the chances of winning quotations/specification

Daily and monthly responsibilities of the role

  • To carry out full quotations based on specific customers requirements and in accordance with relevant regulations/standards
  • To log the activity and value of estimates in CRM system and liaise with sales team to maximise conversion rates
  • To assist clients by giving advice on product selection, operation, installation and maintenance in accordance with relevant Regulations/Standards
  • To assist S&P UK staff with technical/product enquires
  • To efficiently and effectively prioritise workload and meet deadlines
