Chief Executive Officer


Experience: 15 to 25 yrs.

Chief Executive Officer will report to the Board and will lead and manage the overall operations of the 15 airports managed by AFL, with the following key accountabilities and essential attributes:

Lead and direct the overall operations, ensuring effective and efficient management and conduct within the framework agreed by the Board.

Proactively carry out succession planning and ensure the recruitment of skilled staff and establish appropriate remuneration levels and performance based criteria within the framework approved by the Board.

Proactively source business opportunities for AFL and ensure business profitability.

Take a proactive role in the formulation of strategic objectives.

Ensure strong strategic and annual planning processes are in place to produce effective plans for approval by the Board.

Ensure compliance with the operating framework of AFL as well as be nimble and innovative.

Ensure that all financial and non financial reporting requirements are met on a timely and regular basis.

Ensure that reporting to the Board is always transparent and on a no surprises basis.

Negotiate and manage performance based contracts for AFL projects; ensure that project scopes are accurately
identified

Implement stringent project management processes to ensure the timely completion and cost effective solutions of key projects.

Develop and maintain effective strategic relationships with key external stakeholders including the aviation industry and national and international partners.

Develop and propose effective and innovative strategies to the industry and the government in order to promote the interests of AFL.

Maintain effective working relationships with the Board.

Build and maintain a high performance culture through effective performance management, communication and coaching of staff.

Provide clear leadership and promote and foster a team culture consistent with the organization values.

A Bachelors Degree in Business Management, or relevant tertiary qualification.

Minimum of 15 years experience within aviation, operational and/or administrative function with at least 10 years in a senior leadership role.

Demonstrate passion and enthusiasm for AFLs vision, and ability to motivate, lead and empower others to achieve organisational goals.

Is experienced in working with Boards of Directors and providing professional and strategic advice with an ability to implement and deliver on Boards decisions and policies.

Understands the interface between the role of directors and management.

Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of and experience of local and national government, business and aviation industry processes and accountability principles.

Ability to inspire and lead staff towards high level of performance and demonstrate a professional leadership style that supports the attainment of respect and credibility by stakeholders.

Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with stakeholders and commercial enterprises to facilitate the accomplishment of work goals.

Ability to analyse complex policy issues, draw correct conclusions and articulate clear and focused policies to wide and diverse audiences.

Ability to take a broad based view of issues and events, with an understanding of the longer term impact.

GM - Air Traffic Management


Experience: 10 to 15 yrs.

The GM - ATM will report to the Chief Executive Officer, leading and managing the Air Traffic Management Division and will have the following key accountabilities:

Key Accountabilities:

Lead the Air Traffic Management teams in enhancing processes, improvements and profitability.

Contribute to the strategic direction of AFL and set the key outcomes for the specific division in consultation with CEO, the Board and other executives.

Provide effective leadership and management of the relevant Division, ensuring staff are motivated and effectively managed, to achieve AFLs specific key priority goals and objectives as well as succession plans.

Provide high quality and timely operational, compliance, financial, HR, Project reports to the CEO, the Board and
other members of the executive team.

Develop and implement corporate strategies and policies, developing effective systems as required to improve the conduct of business.

Develop and maintain excellent relationships with AFL stakeholders.

Provide efficient and effective services in line with AFLs business and corporate plans.

Identify and undertake research and development of projects that will advance the business objectives.

Prepare, control and coordinate the divisions financial resources, ensuring that they are utilised in an effective
and cost efficient manner and that the operational and capital expenses are in line with budget.

Ensure high quality training of staff reporting to the position in accordance with relevant policies.

Coach, develop and mentor direct reports to ensure an effective environment (climate) by adopting modern and current management principles.

A Bachelors Degree in Business Management, or relevant tertiary qualification.

Minimum of 10 years experience within aviation, operational and/or administrative function with at least 6
years in a senior leadership role.

Proven air traffic management experience.

Good working knowledge of relevant International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) standards.

Strong business acumen, ability to think strategically and competence to engage with stakeholders.

Ability to accurately scope capital and maintenance projects.

Ability to assess and recommend appropriate training and development opportunities for staff.

Self-starter, with an ability to foster and cultivate business opportunities.

Strong and dynamic interpersonal skills, ability to communicate and manage well at different levels of the
organization.

Achievement orientated with a focus on engaging staff and ability to effectively follow up with all projects on
time.

Proficiency in Microsoft office applications and IT applications related to the position.

High level report writing and oral communication skills.

GM - Engineering & Infrastructure


Experience: 10 to 15 yrs.

The GM - E&I will lead, manage and maintain the operations of the Engineering & Infrastructure Division, ensuring the provision of safe and compliant Aviation infrastructure at all AFL locations.

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the GM - E&I will have the following:

Lead the Engineering team in enhancing processes, improvements and profitability.

with CEO, the Board and other executives.

Provide effective leadership and management of the relevant Division, ensuring staff are motivated and

other members of the executive team.

Develop and implement corporate strategies and policies, developing effective systems as required to improve
the conduct of business.

A minimum of 10 years of experience in a management/leadership role in engineering services with at least 6
years in a senior leadership role.

Proven experience in airport operations and delivery of construction projects

Experience in aviation safety, health, and environment.

Good working knowledge of relevant International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) standards.

Strong business acumen, ability to think strategically and competence to engage with stakeholders.

Ability to accurately scope capital and maintenance projects.

Ability to assess and recommend appropriate training and development opportunities for staff.

Self starter, with an ability to foster and cultivate business opportunities.

General Manager - Airports


Experience: 10 to 15 yrs.

The GM - Airport will lead and manage the overall operations of the 15 airports managed by AFL and ensure world class airport facilities, services and airport infrastructure. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the GMA will have the following:

Key accountabilities:

Contribute to the strategic direction of AFL and set the key outcomes for the specific division in consultation
with CEO, the Board and other executives.

Provide effective leadership and management of the relevant Division, ensuring staff are motivated and
effectively managed, to achieve AFLs specific key priority goals and objectives as well as succession plans.

Provide high quality and timely operational, compliance, financial, HR, Project reports to the CEO, the Board and
other members of the executive team.
