Project Manager for TORM (Denmark)

The Position
Our new Project Manager will play an important role in fulfilling our goals in a team based organization with a high customer focus. We have a number of projects identified which will ensure huge reduction of CO2 emissions and related fuel oil savings, as well as improved reliability of our vessels. Furthermore, the implementation of new systems and equipment onboard will enable us to comply with future regulations. Consequently the position contains great potential for development and influence.
The Challenge
As Project Manager in Energy Efficiency & Innovation, the main responsibilities are:
  • Project handling of energy efficiency projects and project management in general
  • Project planning, implementation and follow-up/closing of vessel projects
  • Drive new processes and change management as required for the success of projects
  • Keeping yourself updated on new technologies within the energy efficiency area
  • Ensuring that the TORM Leadership Philosophy
  • and Business Principles are an integrated part of everything you do.
Profile
You are good at keeping a broad overview and work in a very structured manner. You take initiatives and offer new perspectives and ideas. You are a networker and you establish trust and are able to communicate at all levels of an organization. You effectively time manage yourself and take responsibility of your work by being an excellent project executor. Your tasks are completed in time and on budget. You do this by:
  • building relations and continuously managing your stakeholders
  • continuously expectation management and proactive receiver oriented communication
  • structured project planning and continuous risk mitigation
  • system mindset, thinking people and processes as an integrated part of technical projects.
About You
Preferably you have a marine background (marine engineer/master mariner) or relevant engineering education. Alternatively, you must have a fair knowledge of the industry we are in as well as you must be capable of understanding and discussing the problems at hand. Furthermore, we expect:
  • At least 2-3 years of proven project management experience 
  • Project management certification (PMI-PMP)
  • An extroverted, joyful person with strong communication skills 
  • You enjoy giving presentations to a large audience as well as to a few selected specialists
  • Fluent in English, written andspoken
  • Experienced IT user (MS office, Mark5)
  • Familiar with and have knowledge of budget planning and follow-up.
