1. GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF THE JOB:
Assists the QA Systems Manager in effectively carrying out 2 of the major functions (Systems & Capability Building and Branding Equity) of the department according to schedules, priorities and necessities. These basically cover the following scope:
1.1 Promotion of awareness to quality and food safety among workers across the organization through policy establishment, systems development and skills training.
1.2 Provision of technical services to operations QA and process owners in terms of:
1.2.1 Pest control management;
1.2.2 Materials, process and product verification / validation / risk assessment; and
1.2.3 Special quality and food safety projects (e.g. shelf life, quality improvement studies, etc.)
1.3 Promotion of the customer-focus quality management principle in the organization; and ensure compliance to the requirements of Certification Standards on customer complaints handling, product recall and traceability.

3. DETAILED RESPONSIBILITIES:
3.1 Designs training modules and conducts training on Quality & Food Safety (e.g. HACCP, GMP, Hygiene & Sanitation, etc.) to relevant and key personnel in the organization in accordance to the approved Annual Training Plan set by the QA Systems Manager.
3.2 Drafts and recommends new policies, systems and processes or changes in the existing ones to further strengthen compliance to quality and food safety requirements of national and international legal and statutory regulations, including voluntary standards to which the company is certified (e.g. ISO 9001:2008, ISO 22000, ISO 14000, BRC, etc.).
3.1 Coordinates with process owners and representatives of subcontracted agency on matters or problems related to Pest Control in the entire organization.
3.2 Jointly conducts pest control evaluations with the Pest Control agencys authorized/licensed pest controller.
3.3 Conducts risk and gap assessments on raw materials, processes and finished products against the quality and food safety requirements of internal and external certification standards.
3.4 Conducts risk assessments on new raw materials through the NIC and SQA pre-qualification and approval system.
3.5 Conducts special short-term projects with cross-functional teams in the Feed Mill and Processing Plants as needed (e.g. Shelf life and quality improvement studies).
3.6 Facilitates conduct of product traceability and mock recall exercises at planned intervals in the Feed Mill and Processing Plants.
3.7 Assists the QA Systems Manager in facilitating conduct of Consumer Sensory Evaluation with the Sales and Marketing group.
3.8 Assists process owners in investigation and formulation of corrective actions on customer complaints.
3.9 Prepares and presents quality reports, issues and maintains all required documentations in the business unit.
3.10 Applies applicable QC tools (e.g. graphs, charts, check sheets, etc.) in the execution of his tasks.

3.12 Performs 5S in his area of responsibility.
3.13 Performs related duties as may be assigned by the immediate superior.
Knowledge:
1. Seafood processing & quality assurance.
2. HACCP, GMP, Hygiene & Sanitation, food microbiology and food chemistry
3. Food Safety Management Systems like ISO22000, FSSC 22000 or BRC.
Basic Skills & Competencies:
1. Hands on experience in implementing Quality Assurance Program in the Food Processing Industry.
2. Trained and certified in HACCP.
3. Experienced in conducting GAP analysis, Risk Assessments and Training programs
4. Ability to understand the procedures and process and products.
5. Take independent decisions on spot to issues related to food safety and quality.
6. Communication skills (oral and written). Preparation and presentations of reports.
7. Working familiarity with MS Office
8. Total Quality Management (TQM) and SPC training and experience is an added advantage.
Experience:
A minimum of 5 years experience as QA Senior Officer/ Supervisor in a Food Safety and Quality Certified Food Industry Preferably Seafood.
Productivity:
The ability to handle multiple tasks and report back with completion status within the target time.
