Job Title: Senior Lab Technician
Job Location: Qatar
Client: oil and gas (exploration and production)
Directorate: operations
Division/ unit: Production
Rotation: 29 days’ work following with 27 days off.

Type of job: Indefinite contract
Experience: 5+ years of experience into oil and gas chemistry laboratory
Principal Accountability:
working experience into offshore oil and gas operations, quality control, onsite testing, sampling, maintenance, safety inspection, maintain chemical/material inventories for analytical service, participate in purchasing and budgeting of material, provide professional T&D to staff, prepare daily lab report, lab analyses including crude oil, water, gas and solid/deposit samples
1. Organize efficiently and coordinate the lab activities, including quality control, timely execution of all incoming requests and other lab work as required.
2. Collect representative samples from all field locations for laboratory analysis.
3. Perform routine and non-routine laboratory analyses including crude oil, water, gas, and solid/deposits samples.
4. Ensure that all laboratory instruments are calibrated, maintained and operated properly.
5. Ensure quality control program are executed properly.
6. Review and monitor analyses carried out by contractors.
7. Participate/contribute to all improvement projects carried out by laboratory clients.
8. Prepare daily lab report as per the procedures and supervisor instructions.
9. Provide a professional training and development for all new Qatari staff.
10. Perform maintenance activities for lab facilities.
11. Perform routine safety inspection and take corrective and preventive action immediately.
12. Maintain a schedule of the tasks to be performed under the direction of supervisor.
13. Process and document the analytical results for timely reporting and communicate with various operational departments.
14. Maintain chemical/material inventories to ensure no analytical service interruptions.
15. Participate in purchasing and budgeting of materials require for lab operations.
16. Investigate any customer complaint, non conformance and instrument failure by providing efficient corrective and preventive actions.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
• Minimum Diploma in chemistry
• Minimum 5 years experience in Oil and Gas Chemistry Laboratory.
• Must be fluent in spoken and written English.
• Computer literate.

Problem Solving
• Resolve issues related to analytical analysis, equipments operations, sampling and method developments.
• Participate in determining priority of daily tasks while working with limited resources.
