Technical Sales Engineer for Al Amjad, Oman

Nationality: Any Arabic National, Any European National, Indian, Filipino

Job Purpose

To maintain and grow sales of products and services to customers and contractors across Oman region. To support customers and contractors with all aspects of their operational/technical use of absorbents/catalysts with the purpose of building and maintaining quality relationships and hence increasing market share by demonstrating the value that we can deliver to customer process through Productss and services. 

Responsibilities

1. Lead the development of the multi-year strategy and plan for the business in the region and deliver agreed revenue and margin targets each year, consistent with that plan.

2. Manage the complete sales process for your existing customers, from , preparing quotes and tender documents to negotiating and closing profitable sales deals. Ensure that effective customer follow-up is completed, as providing excellent customer satisfaction is pivotal to our business model and future success.

3. Identify new sales opportunities from regular interaction with customers, and contractors (and other sources). Through effective technical argument and relationships, influence technical solutions to problems that favour our offering. Tenaciously follow such opportunities from the conceptual, pre-project and project phases, through to tender, negotiation (including terms and conditions), order and payment and loading/commissioning.

4. Maintain accurate short, medium and long-term forecasts for your region and communicate these effectively, including use of the range of IT systems. Report effectively on the state of your market and customers and maintain relationship and data.

5. Hold regular quarterly operational data review meetings with customers at their sites across the region with a view to maximising the value from their plants and determining future needs to inform and coordinate with suppliers. 

6. Continually seek opportunities to drive services and new product ideas with existing and potential customers. 

7. Provide both responsive and proactive customer operational support on a regular and ad hoc basis to aid with problem solving whilst up-skilling the customer.

8. Assistance at plant and catalyst start-up for all forms of catalyst used in the customer plants to enable effective start up thus ensuring the customers expectations of the catalysts are met.

9. Lead promotional activities in the region so that the Company profile is raised and new business avenues are opened up; including relevant conference attendance & networking, production/presentation or joint technical papers and organisation of JM technical seminars..

10. Gather competitive market intelligence and ensure that this is shared regionally or globally as required.

11. Ability to adapt and work in different environment and drive technical solutions.

12. Cordinate with our principles in different gas markets to assure market share is maintained.

13. Arrange meetings for our principles at the different customers sites and with different stakeholders.

General attainment equivalent to:

• Degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent

Job related work experience skills/knowledge requirements:

• Proven technical sales experience including negotiation

• Commercial experience of customers and suppliers in the region

• Proven relationship building skills within the region

• Awareness of and ability to work within relevant cultures

• Understanding of chemical fundamentals and performance of the Gas Processing 

• Knowledge of product applications and trouble shooting

• Knowledge of markets

• Ability to work with other functions 

• Valid GCC driving License 

• Fluent communication skills in English
