Managing Director / Country Director to oversee the development and successful running of various exciting farming projects throughout Malawi. Our client has the desire to positively affect the lives of 100,000 small holder farming families in Malawi.
Our client is looking for someone who has sound understanding of agricultural development and is also capable of working with local partners and government officials.
Your key responsibilities would include:
* Ensuring the long term financial development of country wide operations to enable autonomy and place less reliance on donor funds.
* Being responsible for overall operational aspects of all programmes in Malawi.
* Liaising with head office to develop strategic and business development plans in country.
* Taking an active role in the hiring process and all HR related activities.
* Developing a community impact program, with regular evaluations to guarantee optimal performance.
The ideal candidate for this Managing Director / Country Director position would have a background consisting of:
* A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is essential, but a Masters or MBA is preferable.
* At least 10 years of professional experience working in successful agricultural or agribusiness development in emerging markets.
* Previous experience working on food value chain or food security, out grower or community impact roles within southern or eastern Africa is an absolute must.
* Knowledge of local Malawian languages and culture would be advantageous, but not essential.
* Exemplary budget control experience.
The Managing Director/ Country Director will receive a fantastic package, including an annual salary of 140,000 - 150,000 USD as well as performance based bonuses.
