KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Sales Operations -
• Identify, research, and conduct prospective customers and build positive relationships that will generate future sales and repeat business
• Assess customer needs and suggest appropriate products and services
• Respond to customers’ technical inquiries and support Sales Representatives in technical aspects of the sale as required
• Review requests for proposals, and prepare sales bids, technical costing and proposals to support sales process
• Participate in meetings with customers during the sales process to discuss and address technical inquiries
• Negotiate prices and delivery times within limits of authority
• Conduct product presentation or seminars to promote products
Customer Relationship Management-
• Build and maintain long-term customer relationships with the region’s customers to ensure identifying and addressing their current and future technical needs
• Ensure customer relationship management techniques are applied by the region’s engineering staff including advising customers on the market’s trends and offerings to increase customers’ loyalty
• Address and resolve technical disputes with the region’s customers to ensure customer retention and protect market positioning
Reporting and Relationship Management-
• Refer customer feedback and information on competitor activity to appropriate contacts so that
they can respond to changing market conditions and customer demands
• Document work progress regularly and develop reports to keep management updated on work progress on a regular basis
• Manage relationships with service suppliers (e.g. workshops, electricians) to minimize costs and ensure satisfactory standards of service
Policies, Processes and Procedures-
• Implement approved Sales’ policies, processes, procedures and provide instructions to subordinates and monitor their adherence so that work is carried out in a controlled manner
• Contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of systems, processes and practices taking into account leading practices, improvement of business processes, cost reduction and productivity improvement
• Support in monitoring day-to-day activities to ensure compliance with stipulated policies and procedures
People Management-
• Supervise, guide and assist direct reports to perform their daily activities in accordance with the policies and procedures-
• Actively participate in on-the-job training, mentoring and coaching of direct reports
• Generate commitment, motivation and enthusiasm to team goals, and guide team members through periods of change or uncertainly
• Provide clear direction, prioritize tasks, assign and delegate responsibility and monitor the workflow
• Provide opportunities for team members to suggest, participate in and contribute to improvement, innovation and knowledge sharing initiatives
• Ensure the team complies with values, policies, processes and systems
QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS:
Knowledge and Experience:
• 4 to 6 years of experience in Systems sales and maintenance, with at least 1 year of experience in a supervisory position
• Previous Systems Technical expertise is required
• Previous Systems Market knowledge and experience is preferred
• Previous Customer and Supplier Relationship Management experience is preferred
Education and Certifications
• A bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or equivalent is required
• A certificate or specialized training in Systems is preferred
