Production Manager for Forsan Foods, Saudi Arabia



Any Arabic National, Any European National, Indian, Filipino

Reports to : Plant Director

Job purpose: 

Monitoring and controlling of production activities, personnel and process in Cheese, Meat, and chocolate and butter factories. To plan and carry out production activities, so as to satisfy the market needs for various products that are produced in Forsan Foods Factories, in accordance with agreed business plans of the Management.

Main Duties and Responsibilities of the Role:-

Ensuring the hygiene and cleanliness of plant and premises:

 Responsible to maintain cleanliness inside the factory.

 Responsible to maintain hygiene of all machinery / equipment / instruments.

 To ensure CIP schedules and manual cleaning schedules are carried out as per the plan & SOP/MSP schedule prepared.

Identification of Maintenance issues and Red tagging:

 Implementation of red tagging system with full coordination with Maintenance online and Plant Director.

 Reporting any abnormality w.r.t machinery or utility and coordinate with superior for timely completion of tasks.

Adherence to process parameters / norms / specifications:

 Responsible to implement the Good Manufacturing Practices in all location and adhering to the standards.

 Responsible to identify In-process non-conformities and initiate corrective actions immediately.

 Responsible to train the employees about process norms, standards, etc., and ensure to follow and implement effectively.

WIP inventory monitoring:

 Responsible to monitor WORK IN PROGRESS on continuous basis and manage the inventory effectively.

 To review the WIP and inform superior for any shortfalls and plan production process accordingly.

 To coordinate with Plant Director to rectify the shortfalls and initiate corrective action avoid any abnormal shortages.

Monitoring and controlling the rejections / Losses:

 Responsible to minimize the process losses in all areas.

 Responsible to ensure that all required tests for raw material, In-progress material have been effectively carried out, in coordination with Quality control, before using the raw material for production.

 To verify the results of such In-progress tests and if found not as per the standards, initiate corrective action.

Monitoring the consumption of Consumables:

 Responsible for analysing the use of department consumables, packing consumables, chemicals and others.

 To monitor and control the use of consumables.

Production Planning and Report preparation:

 Responsible for preparation of production plan based on orders and pending quantity for delivery.

 Responsible for preparation of weekly log sheets and submitting to Plant Director.

 Submission of daily production report including down time, planed and actual production, and reason for deviations.

 Responsible for preparation and analysing of monthly consolidated reports and submitting to Plant Director.

Manpower Scheduling and control

 Scheduling of Manpower based on planed production.

 Control of absenteeism and overtime for employees.

 Control and evaluation of all production employees based on schedule.

 Analysing and increasing the productivity of the employee with appropriate assignments.

Management:

 Recruit, train and effectively appraise production staff.

 Motivate team members positively to encourage efficiency and adherence to quality standards.

 Supervise production workers and manage department resources effectively.

 Maintain a safe working environment, notifying senior management of any necessary safety improvements.

 Perform other tasks as may be seen necessary by the Plant Director.


Requirements:

Education: Bachelor in Food technology.

Professional Certifications: 

- HACCP

- Food Safety (Level 1, 2, 3 & 4)

Experience:Minimum 5 Years’ Experience in a similar position

Knowledge, skills & abilities / Competencies:

- Ability to lead people effectively and get maximum benefit of their time and potential to meet production needs.

- Excellent ability to utilize resources effectively.

- Maintain quality standards, and manage quality issues quickly, with minimal disruption to production scheduling

- Communicate closely with Quality department to continuously improve product quality

- Have a working knowledge of operations including an automated workflow system.

- Good technical & mathematical skills.

- Able to apply written instructions to machine set-up and maintenance.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills

- Able to analyse the big picture to find process efficiencies

Language Skills:

English: Must be able to communicate efficiently in English.

Arabic: Knowledge of Arabic is an advantage.

Computer Skills:

Good general computer operation skills and basic knowledge of word processing and spread sheet software.
