- Qualification: Graduate in Civil Engineering (BE/B.Tech)
- Experience: Should have minimum 8 to 10 years experience in an estimating role with proper understanding of subcontracting and procurement strategies.
Job Description
Market the companys services to existing and potential clients. Take cognizance on target bids orders and ensure resources are appropriately allocated.
Structure the estimating team to ensure effective and efficient execution of estimating activities.
Provide leadership and ensure commercial capability exists to deliver the project .Prioritize bids and manage estimators workload.
Prepare and oversee the preparation of accurate and timely estimates of all mechanical, structural, civil and marine works, including the preparation of bid document and the development of clear written proposals and correspondences.
- Coordinate with subcontractors to receive input for pricing on labor, materials and other costs.
Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors and receive most competitive offers and delivery schedules
Maintain client relations by being the lead contact and manage negotiations on contract terms and conditions, price and payment etc
Manage tender process on diverse range of mechanical/civil marine works from preliminary review, execution methods and post tender analysis. Identifying tender deliverables, check tender details, request credit checks and provide relevant information for the preparation of prelims, contract amendments, bonds, etc
Administer, develop and maintain up-to-date project estimates reflecting project scenarios, strategies, and priorities and identify materials with long lead constraints. Verify and develop detailed benchmark and recommend alternative proposals using value engineering.
- Serves as a liaison for Project Management when a bid/tender is awarded and support Project
Operations Managers in understanding project budgets and technicalities of the project.
Submit accurate cost estimates on schedule with all needed documentation. Ensure all bids submitted are competitive in terms of the labour and material.
Obtain summary for entire project /proposal ,including the costs of labor, equipment materials, subcontracts ,overhead, insurance , mark up and any other costs that may affect the project
Manage effective handover of the awarded contract to the execution team and assist in smooth and timely commencement of the project.
- Develop data base from historical performance and current rates and focus estimators time on value added estimator inputs.
Obtain the best value sub-contract services for tenders and maintain a subcontractor approved list.
Perform Post Audit Reviews of Bids lost and actual performance of awarded projects. Review all estimating systems on an ongoing basis to ensure that efficiency of the department is maximized
ESTIMATOR

Job Description
Study tender specifications and project requirements and determine special conditions that may be ambiguous, present problems or result in unforeseen costs. Prepare tender proposal with necessary clarifications/queries, assumptions and deviations.
Attend pre-bid meetings and determine scope of work and required contents of estimate.
Investigate jobsite conditions prior to bid to evaluate site accessibility and any condition that would affect construction methods and costs.
- Estimate accurately each job and review the estimate with Estimation Manager in sufficient time to permit careful analysis, checking of calculations, and corrections as necessary.
Invite bids from subcontractors and suppliers. Obtain bid estimates at the most competitive price early enough to ensure timely delivery of materials.
Revise quotations as required and create estimates for alternate designs and perform cost comparisons.
Prepare pre-bid reports and update as necessary job progress schedule in coordination with the Estimation Manager.
- In conjunction with the Site Quantity Surveyor obtain project completion reports and work on improving existing estimating standards and system.
Assists the project manager in initial sequencing of construction activities, outlining components such as labour, materials and equipment, You are responsible to ensure that the work environment is productive between the project manager, others and yourself.
