Storekeeper for Saudi Arabia

Basic Function 
Issues various mining operations stock items, chemicals and parts for Mill, parts and materials for Maintenance and dedicated mining parts and materials

Work Performed 
  • Receives binning list from Senior Storekeeper (i.e. receiving). Picks materials from receiving area and relocates items to final bin/shelf. Labels and marks stock item with relevant stock number as advised on binning list; may liaise with Stock Controller for new bin numbers. Updates computer system with relevant bin numbers and appropriate changes. Ensures all bin numbers are recorded accurately on bin and in computer system to enable efficient retrieval of required items as needed.

  • Receives Issuing Request (IR) from relevant department appropriately signed by authorized personnel. Checks details of item on computer system. Picks item from shelf/bin. For light items delivers to issuing counter for acceptance by relevant department, i.e. small parts for maintenance. For heavy items issues to truck for delivery to requesting department, i.e. pallets of cyanide. Ensures receiving person signs IR for acceptance of goods/materials

  • Ticks off items on IR and enters details of issued items into computerized warehousing system to adjust relevant stock levels and reflect transfer of cost to relevant department. Ensures accuracy of data by checking all details of requested stock items and receiving department from IR.

  • Carries out all activities in accordance with company safety procedures and manufacturers' recommendations, ensuring that all precautions are taken to isolate equipment prior to commencing work, following all safety instructions and notices, and wearing protective equipment at all times.
  • Carries out other similar or related duties as assigned
