- To operate Water Treatment Plant (Filters)
- To maintain and control intake and sedimentation tank and Reservoir levels
- To backwash pressure filters and rapid sand filters/ clean sand filters
- To keep records of pressure, flow etc
- To detect any failure in equipment or system and notify Supervisor / Senior shift operator of the situation, record incident and remedial action
- To prepare chemicals for dosing system of disinfection and pH control and adjust chemical dosing as required
- To carry out basic and physical and chemical tests related to water treatment such as residual Chlorine, pH, colour, turbidity etc
- To keep tidy and correct records of instrument reading and water test on hourly basis
- To keep equipment and station tidy and clean
- To deal with emergency phone calls of burst pipe and any other incident during and after office hours , weekends, and public holidays and subsequently transmit the message to standby Supervisor for action
- To take routine decisions in operating of the works
- Any other relevant duties as directed by the Supervisor as and when required
- Pass IGCSE Combine Science
- Any other technical qualification and experiences on same field is advantageous
