Urgently required for one of the most Renowned Refinery in UAE (Abu Dhabi / Ruwais) Covering Crude Oil & Condensate Refining, Supply of Petroleum Products Production of granulated Sulphur. 

BASIC FUNCTION: 
Coordinates and monitors the Plant Environmental Protection, provides specialist advice and assistance to Operations. Monitors the various streams and outlets for pollution control on Land, Air and Water and carries out a wide range of environmental audit, inspection, investigation and testing activities at various refinery operations to cover such issues as airborne contaminants measurements, physical agents testing (notice, radiation, heat stress, etc.) air quality, effluent quality, handling and management of toxic and hazardous waste, etc with a view to ensure that conditions and environment are maintained at the require standards of safety, health and environment. Reports undesirable conditions and implications thereof together with recommendations for improvement in order to achieve ADNOC Group policy objectives on environmental protection and management. 

WORK PERFORMED:
-Monitors the environment by conducting the necessary inspection, measurements of various conditions and streams to assess with an expert opinion and advise proper remedial actions to be implemented to ensure compliance to the laid down standards.
-Responsible for carrying out regular audits of workplace conditions and environment to identify prevailing environmental risks, personnel at risk and the type and extent of measurements required.
-Makes sure that adequate programmes are effectively implemented to bring under control all environmental factors that are known to be or suspected of being hazardous to health and environment.
-Conducts environmental testing and measurements to determine major sources of airborne contaminants such as CO, Asbestos, Hydrogen Sulphide, Mercury, Lead, Silica, Sulphur Dioxide, NOx HC and other substances hazardous to health and environment.
-Prepares detailed reports of environmental monitoring, findings and presents to management to keep them fully advised of the environmental situations, deviation from optimal environmental conditions, existing and potential environment risks and any untoward consequences thereof. Evaluates and participates in the approval of new/revised operating procedures, systems, measures and other remedial actions relevant to environmental protection and management pertaining to established safe limits and fulfilling ADNOC Group Policy Objectives. Coordinates, monitors and advises on the safe storage, treatment of disposal of hazardous wastes.
-Provides adequate details/data on toxic chemicals and other substances hazardous to health, which may lead to unsafe working conditions and environment and approves alternate non-hazardous materials to meet operational requirements. Reviews the design of existing facilities and new projects to ensure that proper design considerations are incorporated to eliminate pollutants to air, land and water.
-Responsible for periodic environmental audits and reviews to assess efficiency and adequacy of preventive measures introduced to control potential environmental risks at work. Includes ensuring proper identification, labelling and storage of hazardous materials.
-Ensures availability of appropriate procedures to deal with environmental emergencies, the disposal of toxic and hazardous waste materials and that employees are fully instructed of and are knowledgeable about all aspects of environmental protection.
-Reports to management areas of non-compliance, if any, with respects to environmental standards, guidelines, codes of practice or regulations as per ADNOC Policy objectives.
-Carries out various periodic surveys and tests independently or in conjunction with ADNOC EPOH to monitor various pollutants on land, air and water.
-Participates and advises in environmental impact assessment studies for new projects and in the evaluation of possible risks of industrial major hazardous and advises on on-site requirements. Monitors radioactive isotopes for usage and storage at site to ensure that the necessary protective measures are taken.
-Develops and implements educational programmes on environmental protection and management with a view to promoting employees awareness of the hazards and effects of working conditions and environment with which they are in regular contact.
-Maintains records and files of environmental and analytical data developed through environmental monitoring and surveillance activities, including exposure to identified chemicals, biological or physical agents, records of industrial material used and their chemical names etc. to facilitate follow up of environmental risks.
-Recommends appropriate environmental sampling equipment and instruments for the environmental protection and management and supervises and trains field staff on all environmental protection and management issues.
-Carries out other similar or related duties as assigned, such as spot auditing and inspection and monitoring of work activities. Maintains statutory inspection or activity records for presentation to authorized government agencies and preparing basic data for departmental reports. 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
-B.E. Degree in Chemical Engineering with adequate training in Environmental protection and monitoring or postgraduate diploma in Environmental Engineering.
-Minimum 5 years minimum experience in a related filed (Environmental Protection & Management) preferably in Refinery or Petrochemical plants.
-UAE Valid driving Licence is an advantage.
-Good knowledge of spoken and written English.
-Computer Literate.
