Roles & Responsibilities
Establishing , implementing & monitoring health & safety policies & site safety procedures.
Monitoring and ensuring safe work activities at site.
Carrying out all fire fighting related mechanical maintenance
Site co-ordination & supervision materials planning and arrangements system testing punch list worksassistance with system commissioningall work completion responsibilities.
Erection , installation & maintenance of sprinkler water spray system, deluge valve water spray system , foam system, inergen gas fire protection system and co2 - fire protection system .
Permit to Work- authorization holder, follow up of safety regulations & requirements at site.
Regularly conducting periodical safety audits and taking corrective & preventive measures to eliminate the system non-compliance.
Carrying out risk assessment for the projects at site & making weekly and monthly reports.
Conducting tool box talks.
Taking extra safety measures during any process such as welding/radiation/inspection and stack/piping fabrication etc.
To prepare the safety reports on site as per the requirements of client as well as the company hse manual.
Carrying out plant safety inspection in order to monitor various work permits (hot, cold, electrical and vessel entry) for the jobs involving boiler pressure parts, safety valves, pressure gauges, construction sites piping, hydrostatic and pneumatic testing which includes heavy lifting, rigging, flushing, drying, painting, insulation, welding and cutting.
Observing physical conditions of work and the work practices and procedures followed by workers.
Preparing on-site & off-site response plan and updating the same from time to time.
Compliance of work permit system along with clients and other contractors.
Monitoring accidents & investigating the causes for the accidents & implementing measures to prevent recurrence, maintaining records relating to accidents, dangerous occurrences and industrial diseases.
Close follow-up, inspection &supervision of PPE ( personnel protection equipments ) of site workers.
Close follow up of toxic gases ppm allowable level (closely watching ppm levels of ammonia, h2s,so2,co and etc.).
Inspection of ladders, inspection of safety barriers during excavation jobs, closely watching fire-blankets during welding jobs.
Ensuring the provision of fire extinguishers, gas monitors, first aid boxes at site, wherever necessary.
Identifying unsafe action , unsafe condition and immediate rectification of the same before any incident OCCURS
