Electrical Engineer

Electrical Engineer
- Prepares estimates and justifications for expenditures from proposals, drawings and specifications as required.
- Prepares scope of work, specifications and designs for proposed capital projects.
- Prepares technical bid package for purchasing and communicates with purchasing to expedite requisitions.
- Assumes supervision of assigned projects, including all design, procurement, construction and startup. Coordinates and schedules all associated activities.
- With authorization from Engineering Manager, serves as the technical representative to contractors, suppliers, consultants and other members of the project team.
- Keeps company activities confidential, safeguards facilities and equipment for which he/she is responsible.
- Ensures compliance with pertinent government regulations, engineering standards and company policies and procedures
- Liaise with EHS department on safety implementation for contractors working onsite.
- Provide updated information to revise the project budget and timing. Track actual work hours and performance of onsite contractors within the designated area.
- Compile and issue periodic reports to Engineering Manager, so that sufficient information is available to take informed decisions regarding cash flow, capital investment and time schedule needs.
- Participate in project review meetings and be actively involved in the analysis and resolution of any concerns.
- Organize and coordinate all contractor activities with all affected departments to achieve timely completion of projects with minimum interruption to plant production activities.
- Monitor quality of execution of works according to common standards and compliance to specific requirements. Initial inspection from contractors within the factory as well as on designated work area.
- Monitor and evaluate new production technology suggested by vendors or currently in use by other companies in the industries. Make recommendations to ensure that the Banting Plant is designed with the types of equipment and technology necessary to be competitive in terms of cost and quality.
- Performs other duties, as might be assigned by the Engineering Manager or superior, and travels occasionally, as required.
- Candidate must have a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical/ Electronic/ Mechatronics Engineering.
- The knowledge in both Electrical and Instrumentation is required for this position.
- Minimum with 5 years working experience.
- Candidate must able to work at Banting, Malaysia.
Maintenance Engineer
- Ensure safe working environment for all employees.
- Achieve plant department availability.
- Ensure all work carried out to accordance of SGL required standards.
- Effective financial management of labour and materials as per financial targets.
- Build strong relationships with production departments, managers and engineering team.
- Effective communication at all levels.
- Assist Team Leader in measurement & improvement of team engagement.
- Participates in meetings, workshops, training and seminars, as assigned for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform job functions.
- Requests equipment and supplies for the purpose of maintaining inventory and ensuring availability of items required to complete the necessary installation and/or repair.
- Responds to emergency situations during and after hours for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns.
- Implement 5S in the workplace.
- Suggest & implement new ideas and solutions for innovation excellence.
- Candidate required at least with Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum 5 years of working experience in heavy industry with minimum 3 years maintenance related leadership role.
- Strong knowledge in maintenance related.
- Must able to work at Banting, Malaysia.
