- Mechanical Technician
- Primary Purpose of Job:
Carry out highly skilled maintenance, repair and overhaul of Rotary equipment and Minor/routine maintenance of static equipment installed at QP Refinery process units i.e. Refinery 1 & 2, RFCC, Condensate Refinery, Utilities/Off sites, Tank Farm, Berth#6, BSV3 and Station C1 at Hamad Intl. Airport (HIA).
Principle / Key Responsibilities:
1. Carry out highly skilled maintenance, repair and overhaul of Rotary equipment such as Pumps, Compressors, Steam/Gas turbines, Air fans, Mixers, Turbo Machinery etc. and minor/routine maintenance of static equipment.
2. Receives verbal/written instructions from Sr. Mechanical Engineer / Mechanical Engineer, obtains permit through RIS, identify and organizes tools, tackles & spares from store and completes the maintenance work as assigned with minimum supervision.
3. Carries out Preventive/Corrective maintenance ofall types of Rotary equipment, which includes assembly/disassembly, bearings & seal renewal, alignment correction, etc. then record all activities in the PM checklist.
4. To perform the lubrication of the rotary equipment including checking / filling lube oil/ grease in bearing housings, oil consoles, crank cases etc. Replacement and cleaning of lube oil systems, filters, lube oil sight glasses, hydraulic oil filters, maintain auto greasing and drip feeding systems etc. Recommend/ request asset integrity team to perform oil analysis, if required.
1 5. Coordinates closely with other maintenance disciplines and other departments to complete the assigned jobs.
6. Performs major equipment overhauls and participates in shutdown works. Carries out correct measurements of clearances/tolerances using a wide range of measuring instruments such as micrometer, Vernier calliper, depth gauge, feeler gauge etc.
7. Maintains equipment history and ensures correct management of work orders.
8. . Fully comply with QP Refinery HSE Procedures.
Qualifications & Experience:
1. Qualified with a Diploma/Certificate in Mechanical Technology from a recognized institution.
2. Minimum oflevel 5 in English communication skills (oral/written).
3. Extensive knowledge of Mechanical Rotary equipment. Ability to work in a multinational environment.
4. Minimum of 8 years experience in Refinery/Oil& Gas/Petrochemical plants. Must have experience in Pumps (Single & Multistage), Steam/Gas Turbines, centrifugal & Reciprocating Compressors, Turbo machinery etc.
5. Capable of using computer for creating permits in RIS, Preferably having knowledge & experience of using SAP & MS Office (Word & Excel)
Primary Purpose of Job:
Carries out the skilled mechanical maintenance activities of rotating and stationary equipment/ process plant machineries of Tank farm/Terminal/multi product berth areas. This includes execution of preventive, corrective, general, breakdown & inspection related mechanical maintenance jobs on equipment/machineries like Oil/Condensate export Pumps, marine loading arms, diesel engines, crude and condensate storage tanks, crude & condensate loading terminal equipment including Oil fiscal metering systems, Prover loops, pipe lines/valves/related accessories, compressors, pumps, fin-fans, heat exchangers/coolers, water storage tanks, vessels, fire protection systems/foam systems.
Carries out minor pipe fabrication/fitting jobs.
All works shall be in accordance with applicable company & industry standards Principle / Key Responsibilities:
1. Receives verbal instructions from Senior Technician/General Technician and
organizes required tools and consumables / spare parts as required to carry out works and proceeds to job site.
2. Carries out planned preventive maintenance checks as per the SAP planned schedule on operational equipment within the defined areas including but not limited to Pumps, diesel engines, compressors, fire water/foam systems, piping systems, valves & related accessories, noting and reporting conditions to immediate Supervisor.
3. Carries out planned routine maintenance of plant and equipment according to schedules/SAP task lists derived from manufacturers recommendations. Assemble & install mechanical seals & bearings on rotating equipment. Work scope also includes the changing of oil & oil filters, air filters, greasing and general overhaul of equipment. Repairs or replaces defective components and rebuilds equipment as required.
4. Carries out corrective maintenance and repairs, indicated by regular predictive maintenance checks or failures of equipment and systems, including stripping down of pumps, loading arms, diesel engines, compressors, metering systems etc. Checks clearances as per manufacturers set tolerances, condition of components and carries out alignment checks. Rebuild equipment including replacement of defective components or repairing / reconditioning as appropriate in coordination with central workshop.
5. Ensures clearances and tolerances are within acceptable limits using a wide range of precision instruments including micrometers, gauges, tachometers and carries out the reinstallation and testing of equipment through various stages and reports condition to Supervisor.
6. Participates in shutdown of major equipment turnarounds/repairs of specific equipment items (dismantles, repairs or replaces parts when required) and reassembles equipment in accordance with requirements.
7. Carries out overhauls on equipment and rotating machinery which includes changing parts, checking bearings, mechanical seals, impellers etc. and ensuring tolerances and clearances are within acceptable limits. Undertakes the rigging and removal of equipment skids and accessories as and when required, in coordination with rigging section. Cleans and prepares parts for inspections and reassembles as instructed.
8. Carries out similar or related duties which include / carrying out work activities in accordance with Fire and safety regulations, permit to work procedures, observing good housekeeping and work practices on site and in the workshop and standing by with senior technicians and General technicians during start-up and shutdown of critical equipment.
Qualifications & Experience Educational Qualification:
1. Completion of Secondary (12 years) education, followed by 2 years formal course in mechanical crafts equivalent to City & Guilds.
2. Good knowledge of spoken and written English. Should be Computer literate.
Experience:
Minimum of 5-6 years hands on experience related to mechanical maintenance and repair of equipment & machineries used within the Oil/Gas/ Petrochemical industry.
SKILLS
1. Familiar with safety standards and regulations of hydrocarbon process industry.
2. Basic computer skills
3. Rigging & slinging skills are desirable.

- We require who can assist in development, maintenance and communication of environmental policies, procedures and work instructions in alignment with corporate HSE objectives, relevant international standards and National Laws & Regulations, who can conduct environmental inspections and draft respective reports, who can assist in maintenance of Environmental Laboratory and implementing good laboratory practice. Candidates should complete his diploma in Environmental Chemistry, Biology, Microbiology or related fields. Should have minimum 5 years of Laboratory experience with at least 2 years in the Oil & Gas or petrochemical industry.

- We require candidates who can supports and actively participates in the maintenance, repair, trouble shooting, routine inspection, detailed fault diagnosis of electrical equipments in Gas Recycling department such as medium voltage, switch gear, 415 volt motor control centers, 11 KV, 6.6 kv 3.3 kv vacuum & SF 6 circuit breakers, 400 volt ACBs, 11 KV, 6.6. Kv 3.3 kv, 415 volt induction motors, UPS systems, lead acid & NI Cad batteries etc.., who can carries out load transfer from the mains to standby generator via synchronizing equipment. Candidate should complete secondary ( 12 years) education, followed by 3 years full time training or Diploma Electrical Engineering. Must have 6 years experience in electrical mainframes and repair work in oil and gas industry.
